These results provide valuable information for further optimisation of this hybrid catalyst towards industrially relevant reduction applications.

Check out the SPT group’s recent publication in the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry: “Design of artificial metalloenzymes for the reduction of nicotinamide cofactors” https://t.co/U0U4ucJncF

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

Here, we construct and characterise a novel artificial metalloenzyme based on alcohol dehydrogenase. We use enzyme kinetics and computational methodologies to elucidate the binding modes of various nicotinamide substrates.

Metals and enzymes, enzymes and metals. Mark your calendars and tune in to this special edition on metalloenzymes on March 18th (Thru), 11 am EST with 2 formidable co-hosts J. Marty Bollinger @penn_state and Anthony Green @UoMMIB https://t.co/xhXWFMn85R

Today in school in year 5, and within our home learning, we have been making bioplastic. We learnt about the importance of renewable resources and the negative effects of non-renewable resources @NottsFOSAC #CURIOUSNOTTS

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

As part of @NottsFOSAC we are also bringing our lab to your home! Make #bioplastic with everyday kitchen ingredients. We'd love to see your creations, please send us your snaps! https://t.co/9ephjSV0PD

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

We are pleased to continue participating in @NottsFOSAC. This year via their magazine, introducing #BiobasedPlastics and how you can make some at home #CuriousNotts

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

@UoNSPT: coming to your favourite local science festival soon! Top right photo is a throwback to last year when we could get stuck in to hands-on activities face to face. Recognise anyone? @JazCutler @AbuAziana

[Charlotte Green @CharlotteGreeno]

@NottsFOSAC once again leading the way in imaginative community engagement -even with ongoing Covid restrictions. We really enjoyed the challenge of adapting our more conventional offering (top right 😊) to bring @UoNSPT research to #CuriousNotts this year. Watch this space!

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

#Labvent wouldn't be complete without Head of SPT @alexconradie's views on donkeys and how he lost out to @elonmusk Personally, we think the merits of #Reindeer power should be considered. Why not plug that into an #LCA and #technoeconomicanalysis

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

After kicking off #Labvent 22 days ago @HarryPadley finally gets to have a go! The draw of the @peakdistrict sure is strong and Manchester is 6000x rainier that anywhere else in the world, p>0.05 (That person in the pub, 2019)

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

For today's #Labvent we have tracked down one of our non-lab based members @ChristofJaeger. Our analog fortune teller/chatterbox seemed to perplex him a little.

[UoNSPT @UoNSPT]

We have heard lots about #syntheticbiology and #biochemistry during #Labvent but being in @UoNEngineering @VictoriaOutram shows us how we consider #scaleup
