ADG, NCC Dte (UP) was invited as the Chairman of Convocation Ceremony at Veer Bahadur Singh Poorvanchal University, becoming the first Military Officer in nearly three decades to be accorded this honorable distinction.

During the ceremony, the Her Excellency Hon'ble Governor acknowledged the contribution of NCC and appreciated the initiatives undertaken to strengthen its outreach and engagement with the youth.

During his interaction with cadets ADG motivated them to become responsible citizens of the country and to contribute towards nation building.

The occasion reflects the growing recognition of the National Cadet Corps and its role in shaping responsible, disciplined and socially committed citizens.

Maj Gen Gaurav Gautam, VSM, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate (Uttar Pradesh) visited the NCC units in Moradabad on 21 Jul 2026. The General Officer addressed the NCC Cadets of 9 UP (Girls) Battalion, 23 UP Battalion and 24 UP Battalion at Panchayat Bhawan. The event included overview of NCC activities in Moradabad followed by cultural programme by NCC cadets. Alongwith Brig Amit Uniyal, Commander NCC Group HQ, Bareilly, Offrs of Moradabad NCC units, 400 NCC cadets , 25 Associate NCC Officers and 40 permanent instructors from Army participated in the event.

Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, DG NCC concluded his visit to the Cadets' Friendship Festival on 04 Jun and departed for Moscow. As a token of friendship amd remeberance, mementoes were exchanged with the Head of Stavropol Presendential Cadet School.

The NCC delegation also showcased the diversity and rich culture of India by country presentation on India which was immensely appreciated by the audience.

*NCC Mt Deo Tibba Expedition Team in a Daring Rescue Operation Saves British National’s Life in Remote High Altitude Area of Himachal Pradesh*

The National Cadet Corps Mountaineering Expedition Team to Mount Deo Tibba, based at Tenta, Himachal Pradesh rescued & evacuated a critically injured British national under extreme conditions demonstrating rare character & valour. The foreigner had met with a serious paragliding accident where he suffered severe spinal, neck and head injuries in an extremely remote area near the base camp.
On receiving the information, the #NCC team under the team leader Wing Commander Kunal Sharma immediately moved across treacherous terrain marked by steep gradients and multiple water crossings, carrying medical supplies, oxygen cylinders & communication equipment.
Despite challenges of treacherous terrain and harsh weather coupled with physical exhaustion extreme risk, the team provided immediate medical assistance, stabilized the casualty in consultation with doctors from the base through communication links, and coordinated tirelessly with the District Disaster Management Authority, civil helicopter services and the Indian Air Force for emergency evacuation.
The team has displayed initiative, presence of mind, foresight in handling the crisis situation and established a helipad in the mountains, set up communication with the helicopter, guided the evacuation under fading light, and ensured safe casualty evacuation.
After completing the mission, the team trekked back through the mountains at night, undeterred by fatigue, vagaries of weather and terrain with deep sense of satisfaction and pride of saving a human life.
A proud reminder that the spirit of the #NCC stands not only for unity and discipline, but also for courage, compassion and service beyond self.

The first PM Internship Scheme camps at Mumbai and Pune, exclusively for Graduate NCC Cadets, have opened new pathways from education to Skilling towards employment. Delighted that 62 cadets were selected through screening by Lemon Tree Hotels in last two days.
With enthusiastic participation of Girl Cadets, these camps advance #NariShakti, #SashaktYuva and #ViksitBharat. Backed by Maharashtra Govt support, NCC Maharashtra will now take this transformational skilling initiative across the State. An intense information campaign is planned to make youth aware of the huge opportunity that PMIS presents and mobilize greater participation by NCC youth, including those just finishing school.

🚁 Every second mattered. Every decision saved a life.

When Mr George Richmond, a British cinematographer, suffered serious injuries after a paragliding accident near Tenta Base Camp, the #NCC Mountaineering Expedition Team became first responders.

Led by Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, the team stabilised the casualty, established constant medical communication, prepared a helicopter landing zone and coordinated a seamless evacuation with the Indian Air Force and local authorities.

The All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) 2026 commenced at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, with an impressive inaugural ceremony. The finest 612 Naval Wing NCC cadets incl 204 girl cadets representing 17 NCC Directorates from across the country have congregated for the camp.

The camp commenced its competitive activities with the Semaphore Competition, where cadets enthusiastically demonstrated their proficiency in visual signalling, precision & teamwork. This was followed by the Health & Hygiene written exam designed to assess the cadets' knowledge of essential public health, personal hygiene & preventive healthcare practices.
