There will be 3 types of people in the future:
The Purists - reject AI and become new-age hippies
The Automatons - outsource every decision and become machines
The New Renaissance Man - maintains humanity and leverages tech to do what used to be impossible

In 2019 I was 27 and I had nothing to show for it.
I made a plan. I spoke at least good English. I had a Class C driving licence. I could handle a Land Cruiser on bad roads. I'd become a tour guide, drive tourists to our national parks, and finally start earning a life.
Then one night a friend of mine who was already working in tourism told me something I'd never once thought of. Learn Chinese, he said, and guide Chinese tourists. Bigger money, fewer people who could do it. I knew nothing about Chinese. It had never crossed my mind. But the way he said it stayed with me.
We talked until 2am. He drove me home and I was still turning it over in the dark.
I moved fast. I went online and started studying everything in Chinese. The national parks. The wild animals. How to introduce myself. I was eager to work as a Chinese tour guide, and I was sure I was ready. I started telling people I could speak Chinese.
Someone who ran a tour company heard about me and agreed to interview me. To test me, he invited a man from Kenya who actually spoke Chinese, and we met at the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha. The owner pointed at him and said, "He speaks Chinese. Talk to him. If he says yes, I'll hire you."
I turned to the man and said the one thing I had. "Hello, I am Honest. And you?"
He answered. He spoke for maybe a minute. I did not understand a single thing he said.
I had studied online. I thought that was enough. The moment he opened his mouth I found out how far studying is from speaking.
Then, kindly, he switched to English to translate for me, and told me to go step by step. It was possible, he said. I could master it in time.
I walked out of that hotel knowing two things. I could not speak Chinese. And I was going to find a school and pay any price until I could.
That was the beginning. This is what the next four years taught me.
stay tuned to be continued...
You only need 1 hour.
1 hour of building. 1 hour of writing. 1 hour of lifting. 1 hour of studying.
1 hour of any form of bettering yourself, because it quickly compounds.
1 hour feels like nothing until you look back 365 hours later and everything's changed.
Do not take so seriously peopleโs promises or their ardor in wanting to help you.
If they come through, so much the better, but be prepared for the more frequent change of heart.
Rely upon yourself to get things done and you will not be disappointed.

one of the quotes i find most inspiring on a hard day:
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom"
