Community-living middle-aged and older adults with #COVID19 had nearly 2x higher odds of worsening mobility and physical function compared to adults without COVID-19, even though most had mild-to-moderate disease and were not hospitalized. https://t.co/Qw034bwKlQ
"Overall, participants in the study who said they felt lonely, however, were five times more likely to show signs of depression than those who did not.
“Loneliness in our country is a serious issue for older people,” said Dr. Parminder Raina, and one the pandemic highlighted.
📰CLSA research published in @NatureAging found that 43% of adults aged 50+ experienced moderate or high levels of depression at the beginning of the pandemic that increased over time. Loneliness was the most significant predictor of worsening depression.
