Winter 2017-2018 is here! To view our official forecast for the season, please view this video created in November by our former member, @MattLabenzwx. The video explains our precipitation and temperature outlooks from December to February. https://t.co/UDIfRUslFr #winterishere
Last night, @DylanAllenWx also left our organization. Thank you Dylan for what you have done for us.
For now, expect less updates as we try to recover from this staff shakeup.
We deeply apologize for all of this but we figured it was time to go since the lack of posting was big... we hope you enjoyed having me @MassachusettsWx but it’s time to move on.
Here is our preliminary precipitation type forecast for the upcoming Christmas Day/Eve rain-snow-mix event. It will be an inland snow-maker and coastal rainmaker. A mixed bag for areas in between!
There is a significant Ice Threat, setting up for the Central/Northern New England regions! Here is the potential ice accretion. Some areas could see up to half an inch of ice!
Here is my #WhiteChristmas/snow on #Christmas day forecast for the DC area. Appalachians likely to see snow, SE VA not so much. DC has a 50-50 chance. I will try to update this on #ChristmasEve.
Due to tomorrow's ice event schools are being dismissed early and some are being cancelled due to early icing event than others. Make sure you keep checking regularly to see if you/your kids will have school tomorrow. https://t.co/n3aPQoKtE4
My latest thinking for our potential #Christmas Day snow event. We are likely not looking at a major storm here, but enough to bring a White Christmas to some.
We really need that trough to dig to make it widespread. It’s alright for now, but we better hope it digs more.
Our team are closely monitoring this in the northeast. A blog/video maybe required in the coming days! #WhiteChristmas 🎅🏼🎅🏼❄️❄️ https://t.co/UW2RCmgXOE
Happy #solstice! Astronomical #winter begins at 11:28 am ET today - shortest day of the year in Earth's northern hemisphere. This #GOES16 (#GOESEast) loop shows the North Pole covered in #darkness while the South Pole sees 24-hour #daylight. More imagery: https://t.co/mbgRYot60A
