Loyal @bobandtom listener here, continuously since 1990 (33 of their 40 years!), but I haven’t ever attended a broadcast with a live on-site audience. Should I? "Never meet your heroes"—but I know nobody's perfect. What if @Kristileenews (ALWAYS my favorite) is having a bad day?
I’ve decided I’m willing to pay $8 for Twitter. Not per month for so-called verification or for membership … but $8 for all of Twitter, the company’s remaining value after Musk is done with it. #TwitterBlue#FreeForAllHellscape
So I’m watching an episode of #StarTrekEnterprise from 2002 … and, surprisingly, @PadmaLakshmi is guest starring as angry, abducted royalty—what fun! Every scene she’s in, she tries to take charge. She even complains about food. Where have we seen that before?😀 @BravoTopChef
@bbsupergeek@flyonthewallent@CBSBigBrother I honestly wasn’t expecting the @CBSBigBrother season premiere to be any better than in recent years. I had a tiny hope that they’d do something better—but I wasn’t expecting its entertainment value to nosedive to even lower lows. @agrodner22 needs to revamp #BB24 or leave.
New to watching the show? Not at all—I watched, tweeted & blogged about it for years until I finally got sick of how @flyonthewallent insults viewers’ intelligence with the lazy, formulaic way they produce @CBSBigBrother. The franchise can be so much better (like #BBAU).
I wish @flyonthewallent would choose between the two audiences: TV-only viewers or the actual fans who want good, escapist entertaining content that doesn’t insult our intelligence. I don’t care that #BBAU is 100% prerecorded with no live feeds because it’s always a good watch.
They should start the live feeds the very hour that the HGs move in and broadcast a prerecorded, fully edited, well-paced & actually entertaining season premiere a couple days later. #BB24
“Is this particularly bad for @CBSBigBrother?”—my friend. “No, unfortunately, this is exactly what we’ve come to expect.”—me about the poor quality of the #BB24 season premiere by @flyonthewallent
In terms of entertainment value & holding audience attention, the #BB24@CBSBigBrother season premiere from @flyonthewallent is a disaster. This is too high a price to pay for “live.” Better, frankly, to prerecord the whole season like #BBAU.
In 24 seasons, has there ever been a live (or even “live to tape”) @CBSBigBrother episode (much less a season premiere) in which Julie truly excelled as host & the HGs didn’t have deer-in-headlights faces? #BB24@bigbrothrgossip@BBGossip
Isn’t live supposed to be better than prerecorded? The @CBSBigBrother#BB24 season premiere from @flyonthewallent is the opposite. The fake “OMG, I’m going on Big Brother” bits are awful but the other prerecorded stuff is better than the live segments. #FireJulie#FireAllison
Indeed. It’s astonishing to believe this is the 24th season and that they’ve had a full nine months to think about how to capture the #BB24 audience’s attention … and this is all they’ve come up with?
I’m watching the #BB24 season premiere, even though it’s highly unlikely that I’ll be watching other episodes. @CBSBigBrother & @flyonthewallent really need to revamp it — Julie & the bewildered HGs are dull. A live audience would only have masked the inherent problem.
American audiences really should at least sample international versions of #BigBrother. Australia is by far the best, in my opinion—it’s very different, smart (unlike the CBS version, which insults our intelligence), and entertaining. Watch recent seasons now on @paramountplus.
Now that #BBCeleb is over, we're giving you more #BigBrother to fall in love with. 🥰 Catch seasons of Big Brother Canada and Big Brother Australia anytime on @Paramountplus!✨ https://t.co/j6MCbDqBQN
You need to keep watching #StarTrekDiscovery, @OneLuckyGay— seriously. I can’t say more than that without giving away major spoilers. But you (and maybe even @BBGossip) will be very happy once you get beyond a certain point in the series.
Is it TOO MUCH TO ASK we get Trek series where they explore space and go FORWARD in the timeline? Like post-Janeway? Why so hard?
We have all the new movies that are Kirk/Spock-era Trek. ST: Discovery is earlier. This new series is ALSO Kirk/Spock adjacent. DO SOMETHING NEW!!
