Genki Robotics, a new humanoid robotics startup, is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
It's founded by Andy Rubin, the founder of Android, who was a Google executive for nine years. Rubin led Google’s robotics division during 2013–14, which included Boston Dynamics, which Google had acquired. Andy Rubin’s investment firm invested in Agility Robotics in 2018.
Genki Robotics's vision "is to accelerate the integration of intelligent humanoids into society — augmenting human capability and shaping the future of work and service." The company is backed by Andreessen Horowitz and AMD, among others.

Core SDK & Architecture
Improved the MechaOS SDK to connect AI models directly with physical robots.
Reworked control modules for more precise motor commands and sensor handling.
Optimized internal API structure for smoother integration once we open it to developers.
Focused on simulation stability and reducing performance overhead during testing.
Integrating x402 protocol, allowing robots to register, verify, and transact energy autonomously on-chain.
Simulation & 3D Mapping
Expanded the simulation environment using PyBullet for realistic physics and robot movement.
Added early tools for 3D mapping and scene reconstruction, so robots can build and navigate virtual spaces.
Experimented with LiDAR and depth camera compatibility to prepare for real-world mapping.
When Uber first launched, no one believed it would work.

Now everyone uses it.
The same shift is happening again this time in robotics.
