What is this?! Another incredible one” has appeared! It has a rhythm and style I’ve never seen before. And yet, it clearly understands "film" and has been meticulously crafted. Throughout my life, I’ve encountered various geniuses that have changed my life, and this work feels like it’s going to be one of those. I’ve already watched the screener 3 times, and I still can’t articulate my thoughts well. Even so, it grips my heart. I can hear the “sound of falling” as the “common sense” of cinema I’ve built over 60 years collapses within me. Since then, the various “sounds of falling” that played throughout the film continue to ring in my head.
No matter how advanced or wealthy a society or a nation is, without justice, does not deserve to call itself a civilised society, a civilised nation.

One Battle After Another is Paul Thomas Anderson’s magnum opus.
It’s hard to put into words what I just witnessed but this is what happens when you trust one of the greatest filmmakers of modern time with full creative control. The result? An insanely ambitious blockbuster that doesn’t just meet those ambitions, it surpasses them.
The Best Picture Oscar race has officially been thrown into chaos, because out of nowhere we now have a new, clear cut Best Picture Frontrunner.
Not only does this film dethrone Boogie Nights and Magnolia as Anderson’s greatest work but sets a new standard for what blockbusters can achieve.
