The recent events make it clear why the most influential and vocal anti imperialist leader of Pakistan is behind bars. From drones to WoT to cypher. He was spot on about the US & he’s paying the price for it.
We have been stopped by the police before reaching the gate of Adiala Jail. The road has been deliberately blocked to prevent us from proceeding any further.
The official release from PIMS hospital claims that Imran Khan was administered his second eye injection in the middle of the night. If they have nothing to hide, why are they refusing to allow us to meet our brother?
If they have nothing to hide, and if they expect us to believe that he is receiving proper medical treatment, why are his personal doctors not being allowed to examine him?
If they have nothing to hide, why has he been kept in solitary confinement for more than four months, with the exception of three 20-minute visits granted to our sister, Dr. Uzma Khan, the last of which was on December 2, 2025?
Our demand remains clear and unchanged: Imran Khan must be immediately examined and treated at Shifa International Hospital (Islamabad) under the supervision of his personal doctors and in the presence of his family members.
Michael Holding regarding the former captains requesting immediate and adequate medical assistance for Imran Khan.
"That is brilliant, I'm so happy to see that. I thought everybody was just going to sit on the sidelines and watch Imran being persecuted and abused" #ImranKhan
The 14 captains appealing on Imran Khan's behalf. Sunil Gavaskar: “It’s terrible what they are doing to him. We have been friends since he was trying to qualify as an overseas player for Worcestershire and not just rivals on the field.”
A joint statement by former international captains Michael Atherton, Allan Border, Michael Brearley, Greg Chappell, Ian Chappell, Belinda Clark, Sunil Gavaskar, David Gower, Kim Hughes, Nasser Hussain, Clive Lloyd, Kapil Dev, Steve Waugh, John Wright on behalf of Imran Khan:
"We, the undersigned former captains of our national cricket teams, write with deep concern regarding the reported treatment and incarceration conditions of Imran Khan, the distinguished former Captain of Pakistan and a legendary figure in world cricket.
Imran Khan's contributions to the game are universally admired. As captain, he led Pakistan to their historic 1992 Cricket World Cup victory - a triumph built on skill, resilience, leadership, and sportsmanship that inspired generations across borders.
Many of us competed against him, shared the field with him, or grew up idolizing his all-round brilliance, charisma, and competitive spirit. He remains one of the finest all-rounders and captains the sport has ever seen, earning respect from players, fans, and administrators alike.
Beyond cricket, Imran Khan served as Prime Minister of Pakistan, leading his nation during a challenging period. Regardless of political perspectives, he holds the honour of having been democratically elected to the highest office in his country.
Recent reports concerning his health - particularly the alarming deterioration of his vision while in custody - and the conditions of his imprisonment over the past two and a half years have caused us profound concern.
As fellow cricketers who understand the values of fair play, honour, and respect that transcend the boundary rope, we believe that a person of Imran Khan's stature deserves to be treated with the dignity and basic human consideration befitting a former national leader and a global sporting icon.
We respectfully urge the Government of Pakistan to ensure that Imran Khan receives:
Immediate, adequate and ongoing medical attention from qualified specialists of his choosing to address his reported health issues.
Humane and dignified conditions of detention in line with international standards, including regular visits by close family members.
Fair and transparent access to legal processes without undue delay or hindrance.
Cricket has long been a bridge between nations. Our shared history on the field reminds us that rivalry ends when the stumps are drawn - and respect endures. Imran Khan embodied that spirit throughout his career.
We call on authorities to honour it now by upholding the principles of decency and justice.
This appeal is made in the spirit of sportsmanship and common humanity, without prejudice to any legal proceedings"
Imran Khan continues to suffer ongoing hardship in a Pakistani jail - my prayers are with him. Thank God his spiritual strength is unbroken. Once, they sang his praise, he was their darling, East and West. When he demonstrated that he could not be corrupted they silenced him. This unlawful incarceration needs to come to an end.

A Govt Minister has tweeted that a medicial board is being set up for Imran khan. Secondly, we are hearing in news that Imran Khan is to be shifted to Al Shifa eye hospital in Rawalpindi.
Our demand has been clear from the beginning. Imran khan shall not be given any treatment WITHOUT the presence and approval of his personal doctors and family members.
We do NOT accept any medical board they set up and control!
We do NOT accept any reports or results they manufacture.
Our family is getting extremely worried as to why they are resisting the selection of specialists advised by Imran Khan’s personal doctors.
Why are they rejecting the supervision by Imran Khan’s personal doctors?
Why are they rejecting the presence of Imran Khan’s family members?
Why such fierce resistance?
Are they hiding something?
This latest flurry of attention on Imran Khan - for deeply distressing reasons - underlines the futility of keeping him & everything that happens to him hidden. The more they attempt it, the more it doesn’t work. Wrote about that recently for @Equatormag

We have been informed that my father, Imran Khan, has lost most of the vision in his right eye, with reports indicating only 15% eyesight remains. This is the direct consequence of 922 days of solitary confinement, medical neglect (denied blood tests) and the deliberate denial of proper treatment in jail.
The responsibility lies squarely with the regime in power, the Army Chief and the puppets enabling this cruelty. This physical deterioration is happening under their orders, their watch and their responsibility. They have manipulated and warped the justice system in order to keep my father in solitary confinement.
My brother and I are still being denied visas to see our father as his health deteriorates. History will record this injustice.
We urge human rights bodies, legal institutions and democratic nations to confront this persecution and ensure those responsible face consequences.
My father, Imran Khan, has now spent over 900 days in a death cell with no family visits and no access to his personal doctors. Credible reports confirm he has been diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion, a dangerous blockage that can lead to permanent vision loss if not treated through urgent medical intervention in a proper hospital.
Yet authorities continue to block his treatment and deny him the doctors he trusts. I am even denied the right to speak to him. This is not governance. This is authoritarian cruelty.
I call on every defender of human rights to act before it is too late. The world must see that in Pakistan today, democracy is hollow and basic human rights are being crushed.
For the past three months, Imran Khan has been held in complete isolation. Solitary confinement is not only illegal under Pakistan’s laws, but a grave violation of basic human rights. International law clearly recognizes solitary confinement as a form of torture. Despite this, Imran Khan is being denied even his most basic legal rights. Every Tuesday, six family members and six lawyers are legally entitled to meet him, this is not a privilege, it is his right.
This Tuesday at 1:00 PM, we invite you to join us outside Adiala Jail for Khatam-e-Quran, followed by a collective dua after the Asr prayer. This dua is for the release of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and all those who continue to be illegally imprisoned. We urge everyone to come together in collective prayer across Pakistan and across the world at 3:30 PM Pakistan time.
Colonial India as a 'garrison state' where army 'absorbed 40 percent of central government revenue' and cantonments existed 'as visible evidence of colonial power.' Perhaps most fascinating is what is said in book's description, 'Indian Army conquered India for the British, ...'
Once an unelected person conducting a political press conference asked “Who is Imran Khan” … Pakistanis all across the globe gave him a fitting answer, then there was international media and here comes ESPN. Too bad they can’t do transnational repression against ESPN.
