.@SECWAR “Today, as we face an increasingly complex threat environment, we apply the lesson from 82 years ago on these beaches: Strong allies – each fully committed to doing their part – WIN WARS.
The men buried here fought in a warfighting alliance where every partner brought its full measure of industry, courage, and sacrifice. Not empty slogans. Not lavish summits. Not communiques.
Real allies, doing real things, taking real losses, for a shared cause worth fighting and dying for.”
.@SECWAR “The era of the United States subsidizing the defense of wealthy nations is OVER.
We need partners, not protectorates. We seek alliances built on shared responsibility, not shared dependency."
It was a sincere honor and privilege to welcome my friend @DeptofWar General Counsel Earl Matthews to @USNATO this week. Hon. Matthews consulted with senior legal officials throughout the Alliance to expand interoperability and deliver @SecWar's message of Peace Through Strength.
Peace Through Strength is our mission @DeptofWar. @USNATO was honored to host @DoWCIODavies for the @NATO Digital Policy Committee. Hon. Davies made it clear: No more "business as usual" in the information technology battlespace. Speed, innovation, and adaptability are paramount.
The @DeptofWar Executive Leadership Development Program is an intense ten-month course where DoW personnel engage with senior military leaders around the world. @USNATO was so pleased to host them and discuss how we are operationalizing @NATO Allies’ 5% Hague Defense Commitment.
We remember the fallen.
We honor their sacrifice.
We cherish the freedom they paid for with their lives.
Memorial Day 2026 | Arlington National Cemetery 🇺🇸
This week's USNATO Huddle is on NATO 3.0. The era of America footing an outsized bill for Europe’s defense has ended. Led by President Trump’s America First Foreign Policy, the United States demands actions, not words, from our Allies.
In America, each generation strives to leave the next freer, safer, and more prosperous. As we celebrate #Freedom250, we honor the enduring belief that anyone can rise above adversity and fulfill their full potential. @SecRubio lays out that vision clearly.
MAKING AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN 🇺🇸
President Trump is officially bringing back the Presidential Fitness Test award, alongside action to prioritize fitness and athletics for our nation's youth.
Secretary Hegseth’s Oval Office remarks as President Trump signs a presidential memorandum to restore the Presidential Fitness Test:
“We need young, strong, healthy Americans—whether you serve in the military or at any other aspect of your life.”
NATO 3.0’s value proposition is about Allies stepping up and turning commitments into capabilities. That means frigates, submarines, airplanes, and more. And not just for the Alliance–for the United States of America.
Aligned with @USWPColby on making sure NATO Allies are taking on greater responsibility. Europe stepping up to meet the moment - not standing on the sidelines - is a strategic necessity. And urgency matters.
Stretcher carries, running with weights, pull ups... Serious PT with @USNATO Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force warriors. An honor and a privilege to join them.
Whether it's getting after some serious PT or eating healthier, @DeptofWar, our mission is to always be ready to answer America's call. I had the great privilege to meet @SecKennedy recently in DC, where he is Making America Healthy Again! Thank you @FDA_KyleD and @ADM_Christine!
Honored to welcome Assistant Secretary of War for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs John Noh to NATO HQ today. Great talks on President Trump’s historic @NATO defense spending initiative.
Grateful for the opportunity to talk with senior @USArmy leaders at the Judge Advocate General's School about @SecWar priorities of readiness and lethality, and how those guiding principles shape the work @USNATO.
Honored join @USAmbNATO to meet with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Neynsky and discuss how @BulgariaNATO is securing @NATO’s Eastern Flank. Applaud Bulgaria’s continued commitment to defense modernization and to reaching 3.5% defense spending levels by 2035.
