@Itz_not_a_race@jeremycoleman@iowahawkblog Yeah I dislike Bama as much as the next guy but the idea these were FCS transfers is just false. They were from other Big10 schools, ND, the ACC.
You just won a 2-week, all-expenses-paid vacation to Florida. But thereโs a catch: you have to stay within one region the whole time. What are you picking?
@steppedenizen@CoachMelTweets The reason I drive the US isn't because there's no rail. It's because the journey itself is the point.
Or put another way: a train between Nashville and St Louis connects two great cities but would bypass one of my favorite memories of that journey: Metropolis, IL.
Read this thread for an in depth perspective on the first few years of New Orleans & Louisiana history

Sorry yโall for the verbosity. I was feeling on a roll last night.
@LaRaza1538@steppedenizen@nolacampanella Obviously I concur. Read it in February after my most recent trip to NOLA and my mind began to wander, how could you make a more immersive version of this? I wanted to return just to see every place, street, house, etc mentioned. A walking tour of the city led by that book.
Some classic Chevy Chase lines from Fletch, which is 41 today.
Under the laughs, itโs a tight, well-built detective story: drug trafficking, murder-for-hire, and a film-noir backbone; just brighter, with punchy one-liners.
Might rent it tonight. Iโll charge it to the Underhills.
@Polymarket 2025 bosses: you have to be using AI. Come up 5 new ways we can incorporate it. Add it to every feature you ship.
2026: Stop, please. I beg you.
We tried to tell them, they didn't care.
@esoj1211@chriswithans Raleigh otoh is an interesting city, fairly big, no major sports and a lot of influx into the triangle. I think they would accept a new MLB team easy.
@esoj1211@chriswithans I think you would see a generational split like the NFL. The Panthers were adopted by lots of young people but older generations were already Washington and Falcons fans.
@booksandbbq I especially like this "new south" region connecting Atlanta to the upstate, triad and triangle. If you've spent much time in Georgia you know it's two states: Atlanta and the rest.
@jmillincook There's only one fruit people willingly pay money every year to ride a tractor wagon for: Apple. Autumn in the mountains is literally a celebration of that fruit's season. [By the way, best fruit is pineapple.]
They should make a version of The Odyssey, only itโs set in Dublin, Ireland in 1904 and Odysseus is a Jewish man whose wife is having an affair and Telemachus is an aspiring author who gets into fights in pubs and wanders the strand brooding on his motherโs death.
@achillghost Oh hey I know about this one! The dude who discovered the remains made a really solid blog post detailing the whole search and aftermath. It's a really solid read https://t.co/9a6MeG9PTT
