Van Persie 12/13 - 30 goals.
Rashford 22/23 - 30 goals.
Zlatan 16/17 - 28 goals.
Bruno 20/21 - 28 goals.
Lukaku 17/18 - 27 goals.
Martial 19/20 - 23 goals.
Rooney 11/12 - 34 goals.
These are the best goalscoring seasons we’ve seen at United since 2010. Yet only one of these players is routinely treated like he was a complete flop.
Lukaku scored 42 in 96. Only Van Persie and Zlatan had better goals to game ratio for the club since 2010.
He had obvious flaws and he’s finally admitted as much himself, but the disrespect around his United spell has always been far worse than the actual output.
Players admitting they were the problem, not the club.
🎙️ Lukaku explains why he and Pogba struggled at Manchester United:
“It was good, but I think we were too young at the time. We are both ALPHAS.
“And that’s something, one day I’d like to sit down with him and tell him, If we had been together with the mentality we have today, it would have been dangerous. Very dangerous. Really, really dangerous. It HURTS; it HURTS a lot.”

🚨 Liverpool make contact with RB Leipzig as Yan Diomande pursuit steps up. #LFC currently in strongest position on player side if 19yo winger moves - #RBLeipzig determined not to sell. #PSG interest remains firm but less advanced at present @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/dt64tbgGNo
Every summer there’s always a new player that fans obsess to the high heavens about and it’s the end of the world if we don’t sign them.
Before Baleba, it was Evan Ferguson. Jarrad Branthwaite before him. You’ll learn to ignore it.
Last year United fans would’ve told you that signing Anderson over Baleba was the club settling and the reason we’ll never be good again, this year he’s the only midfielder on the market that will do
@BobBoonah I’m also a manc & it was literally stated it was top 5 or bust for Amorim considering he was out of contract next summer. Especially after the performance we saw on the opening day against Arsenal. It’s why everyone lost their heads against Fulham & Grimsby.
@BobBoonah I genuine don’t think it did. Carrick exceeded expectations because nobody expected him to win as much as he did but we were expected to finish top 5 & get UCL regardless. Think people conflate the two.
