Steve Kerr played for two of the greatest NBA coaches ever in Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich.
He was asked, "What made them both so effective as coaches?"
His answer was so insightful and explains so much about coaching and leadership 👇
Be kind. Say thank you. Hold the door open. Compliment as many people as you can. Point out the good and be the good. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Love, serve and care. The world needs more of this today (and every day)!
@BradfatherSpeak I know I don’t deserve all the praise you shower upon me, but thank you. You always make me feel good. However, I can’t take credit for the cheer. I learned it @PGCbasketball .
I know this isn’t novel but.... teachers and staff work extremely hard and they are more likely to be successful in educating our students when students are actually in attendance! This is a basic principle that yields a massive dividend! Face-to-face connection matters!
Treat people right. Appreciate them, encourage them, support them and make them feel like they matter (because they do). Do this at home, at work, at school, at the store, etc. Do this with people you know and people you don't. Try your best every day to make someone else's day.
Brad Stevens recently described Chris Paul in a game as, “Dominating the game with his voice.”
Tough players can dominate even when they don’t have the ball. Their vocal presence is a game-changer.
There’s no such thing as over-communicating. Dominate the game with your voice.
Life is about people, commitment, loyalty and relationships. In the end we won't be measured by our bank account, sales numbers or wins and losses but by the difference we made in people's lives... and we make a difference through relationships.
@fawnpnguyen @KadouraS In my mind if you are using a transformation to verify congruence then you need to show that the two shapes will map onto each other. The third one is congruent but it doesn’t map the shape onto the other, so how would you verify?
Culture is not just one thing. It’s everything. Culture is not static, its dynamic. Everyone on your team creates it and you are creating it each day by what you think, say and do. You can elevate it by what you think, improve it by what you say and make it great by what you do!
@CadeDoug, I absolutely LOVED your presentation this morning. You’re a heckuva story teller and an even better leader. ❤️ I give my team days off and I go snowboarding during the winter to keep me balanced. It recharges me and makes me a better teacher and coach. #seviersdstrong
