Food insecurity is higher among LGBTQIA+ individuals in King County. @AmericanHeartWA developed and trained @utopia_wa on a protocol to screen community members for food insecurity and provide referrals to sustainable assistance beyond UTOPIA’s on-site food pantry. #WAHasHeart
I toured @utopia_wa’s newly renovated Mapu Maia Clinic yesterday and learned more about their health and gender affirming care services. Thanks to investments from the FY23 government funding package, UTOPIA will receive $500K to expand substance use and mental health services.
