Dr. Pittman, Professor of Sociology at Dominican University wrote this helpful piece on how to respond to discriminatory comments in the classroom. Dr. Pittman provides some discussion questions for us to ponder, as well. https://t.co/YgbRfqs5fM

@GeekyPedagogy A group of 10 of faculty listened to your interview with the Suny Oswego CTL this morning and had a short conversation. We discussed how to make sure active learning activities include introverted students.

We shared approaches to pedagogical reflection. One person builds a private space in the LMS to write reflections & collect URLs for next semester. One department asks faculty to write a semesterly report about what pedagogical changes were implemented, creating accountability.
@joshua_r_eyler UVM's CTL & WID are co-hosting a book group for faculty & TAs on How Humans Learn. In addition to growing in our understanding, we're also developing important collegial community for practicing student- and learning-centered teaching. Thank you for the ideas!
