Why is Canada's high-speed rail project ALTO so exciting? It's fast. At 300 km/h it will dramatically reduce travel times between our two biggest cities and capital, and other communities along the route.

Around 12pm today, three men dressed in DOGE shirts and MAGA hats entered various offices at San Francisco City Hall, demanding that employees turn over digital information related to alleged wasteful government spending and fraud. The employees refused their requests, and called San Francisco sheriff’s deputies. Deputies immediately responded but the individuals had fled the building. The incident is currently under investigation; SFSO is reviewing surveillance and using other investigative tools to pursue leads. We do not believe the individuals requesting access to City files were representatives from DOGE.

y'all the hcmc metro is OPERATIONAL
brand new hitachi trainsets, platform screen doors at every station, elevated track (though highway median stations leave something to be desired)
i'm so glad to have been able to experience this decades long project
