@lhstenhouse@DrDaveT Hi Lauren, yes some people may experience side effects from taking antiretroviral medications, most side effects are manageable like fatigue, sickness, rashes, diarrhea are the most common, more severe side effects are things like raised cholesterol and kidney/liver problems.

@MarieeMcl @DrDaveT CD4 T cells are essentially helper cells, they trigger the bodies response to infection. In individuals with the HIV virus, the virus attaches to these helper cells, empties its genetic material into the cell which will in turn alter the cell to produce other HIV virions.
