DP is a masterclass in inaction & constitutional drift. 2 yrs since da last NDC, top organs 've been virtually paralyzed— zero NC meeting & merely 2 NEC meetings. No actionable 12-mnth operating plan, da party lacks da roadmap need' 2 turn strategic rhetoric into tangible reality

The power struggles in the Democratic Party continues to deepen, with the party’s youth pressure group “DP at Heart” calling for the immediate ejection of the Norbert Mao administration over alleged corruption.

@WafulaPhilip5 The future of Accountability and transparency lies before us - internal accountability practices are healthy for institutional growth- speak and rise rather than accommodating them.

PRESS STATEMENT
Members of the Press, distinguished guests, fellow Democrats, and the general public
1. Tribute to Fallen DP heroine, Reiner Juliet Kafiire
Unlike our usual pressers, today's is very unique and we will hold it under candle light in memory of deceased DP stalwalt the late Reiner Juliet Kafiire who passed away on Wednesday.
It's indeed a very painful loss to the Democratic Party family and to Uganda’s democratic struggle.
Hon. Kafiire served as Member of Parliament for Kibuku County in Pallisa from 1996 to 2006. During the DP National Delegates' conference held at Namboole In November 2005, she was elected Vice President of this mighty Party deputizing the late President John Ssebaana Kizito. She was among the brave 53 members of the National Caucus for Democracy in the 1994 Constituent Assembly who refused to endorse the 1995 Constitution calling it a document of political expediency rather than national consensus, standing firmly for genuine multi-party democracy at a time when it was extremely dangerous to do so.
Throughout her political life, she embodied the true values of the Democratic Party – social justice, internal democracy, accountability, and unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Her departure leaves a huge void in the party she loved and served with distinction.
On Wednesday 10th June there will be a requiem mass at Rubaga cathedral at 9am, Thursday 11th June the body will be taken to Kibuku District headquarters for a council session and there after on Friday funeral and mass at her village in Bulangira. Burrial will take place on Saturday 13th June in Kibuku.
At this moment, I invite all of us here – the media, fellow Democrats, and everyone present – to rise and observe a moment of silence in honour of Hon. Juliet Reiner Kafiire.
May her soul rest in eternal peace. @nbstv@newvisionwire@Thomas_Tayebwa@norbertmao@DanielLutaaya@JuliusDumba1@CaptainEveee@DPSecretariat1
