The names of the nine children burned to death in an Israeli airstrike on the home of Dr. Hamdi and Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar in Khan Younis today.
Journalist Muthanna Al-Najjar writes:
In Qizan al-Najjar, south of Khan Yunis, where life once throbbed, Dr. Hamdi al-Najjar lived within the walls of his home, surrounded by his extended family, who were his entire world.
When the evacuation orders were issued by the occupying army, he did as all fathers do. He carried his children and tried to flee with them to a safe shore. But there was no shore here, no shore of salvation in a sea of fire.
He failed to find a place to shelter him, so he returned to what remained of his world—his small clinic downstairs—in the hope that its walls would protect them, or embrace them in their final moments.
Hamdi took his wife to work at Nasser hospital earlier today. Immediately after returning home to his children, a missile fell. In an instant, nine of his children were killed. Yahya, Rakan, Raslan, Jubran, Eve, Rivan, Sideen, Luqman and Sidra.
Hamdi and his son Adam were injured.
Why? He wasn’t a fighter. He didn’t carry a weapon. He was a doctor, a father, a human being who only dreamed of living.
But in Gaza, there is no time for dreams. People are dying of hunger, lost, and fear. They are dying searching for a life that does not exist and for stability that has no place. In Gaza, even survival has become a miracle.
Dr. Alaa Al-Najjar, a pediatrician at the hospital, is reportedly still there. She hasn’t left her post. She has not stopped working.

“Doctor, have you seen my son, [name]?”
“Don’t tell me his name, sister… Tell me what he was wearing… The bodies we have are without heads.”
— Gaza, 2025
35,000 murdered in Gaza, including nearly 15,000 children.
What military prides itself on a fatality count that is drawn mostly from women and children?
I don’t think Y’ll grasp what’s happening in South Africa🇿🇦. Black people that survived #Apartheid went to become judges and lawyers.
And now defending Palestinians🇵🇸 against the country that sent South Africa🇿🇦 weapons during Apartheid!
We are living History!!!!!!
