@charmcgi I can’t find it anymore, but I once saw a reddit post that mentioned childhood trauma (losing a parent, etc.) as an underlying factor in Hashimoto’s. There was a long chain of comments from surprised people who reported similar experiences in the past.

One of the main ways to reduce the risk of getting sick was to drink alcoholic beverages. Even children drank them. Although they were much more diluted.
