Doctor attacked again 🚨

On June 7, 2025, around 10 PM at Goa Medical College, female resident doctors were once again subjected to abuse and threats, this time by a drunk relative of a stabilized patient.

Angry over the patient's shift from ICU to the ward, the man forcibly entered the doctor’s duty room while she was alone, hurled verbal abuse, invoked the name of the Health Minister, and baselessly accused the staff of favoring VIP patients.

This isn't just a one-off incident, this reflects a growing culture where the public feels entitled to threaten and abuse doctors without fear of consequences.

The absence of hospital security, lack of swift police action, and the silence of administrators embolden such behaviour.

If this continues, who will want to serve in government hospitals?

When Similar incident happened in Rajasthan where one SDM humiliated a doctor the entire rajasthan region doctors were protesting on ground and till the day SDM issued public apology the doctors remain united !

I request GMC Goa doctors to show unity and do atleast a peaceful protest
