So, poetry is what happens when we have a conversation with the universe. The power of the truth we get from that place opens and softens our minds, and awakens us to the truth. This is why it is so important.

I am thinking about songs and intimacy.
I struggle to enjoy songs I’ve heard many times before for the same reason I have trouble being intimate with others.
Because I am afraid to get close, I’m afraid of the depths I will have to go to to uncover new exciting things…

…about what I think of the ‘same’ song or person. When in reality each moment a song is played happens in a different context. It has relative history - my experience of it, and the ‘story’ of how it came to be written and the events it references. …

Learning happens in the listening and in the process of finding out more about it. It happens in the research, in the investment, which I am terrified of. I assume, without examining the actual experience of it, that there is such a thing as ‘worthless’ learning.

Everything can be told as a beautiful story. The trick is to drill down into the details and capture it. The more detail the better. Not aimlessly but with intention, with a guiding principle and no set destination. It’s like a sliver of experience, described beautifully well.
They should make a public holiday, where parents are made to apologise to their children for everything that they have done wrong.
To clarify this is not to blame or shame parents (with their own inherited trauma). It’s for the purpose of having our pain validated and seen.
