So its early stages right now but a Ukraine/Friends of Peace benefit event is being organised at the moment with support rolling in. Anyone interested or have good contacts DM me. Give this post a like and share!
What do people think about marijuana legalisation? With more countries decriminalising or legalising for safe recreational use. How does everyone else stand on this issue? I'm very much pro-legal with a robust system of regulation like tobacco.
@Kevin_O2L Very true! There are many pressing issues and as much as I like to joke "everyone gets offended easily these days" perhaps some things we SHOULD be offe dedicated by more? Like inaction on poverty, child hunger, austerity? Maybe people need to shift their focus.
@Kevin_O2L Like, yes, people should enjoy themselves but when you're the one telling people this is for their own safety then start flaunting those rules it kind of gives the impression they never gave a fuck because they're above everyone else. Why is it one rule for us another for them?
@Kevin_O2L Idk if you were prime minister and had to ration food in the country for the benefit of all people you shouldn't then go stuffing your face in private. You COULD but that would be a complete contradiction to what you told others. And shouldn't the PM set the example?
Elections are coming this year as per usual in sunny Colchy. I have a question, what policies will the Lib Dems be supporting to improve Colchester? Will it be enough to claw back some of its old territories?
@V_Weaver_@ColTories @ColcGreenParty @ColchesterLab@Colchesterviews We listen to residents, take on casework and get results for our residents.
We are out listening to residents throughout the year, not just during election campaign periods. For us it's not about politics and point scoring, but about improving the lives of people in Colchester.
@V_Weaver_@ColTories@LD4Colchester @ColcGreenParty @ColchesterLab@Colchesterviews Because the environment ; preserving our green spaces such as the wick, pollution, climate change matter to people locally. Social justice; mitigating against the cost of living crisis and opposing creeping NHS privatisation matter to people locally.& we don't whip so vote freely
@V_Weaver_@ColTories@LD4Colchester @ColcGreenParty @Colchesterviews Thank you for starting the conversation! Colchester comes first, our record shows that. Labour is filled with people who take pride in our historical town, from the councillors who fight to preserve our roman heritage, to the activists that are out supporting those less fortunate
So guys, I'm no longer politically aligned (though we all know who I'm gonna vote for) why should Colchester voters support your party? (not on a national scale, local only) @ColTories@LD4Colchester @ColcGreenParty @ColchesterLab@Colchesterviews
The perfect prime minister to run the country will not be the one blinded by ideology but one thats open to all ideas and focuses on what we can do to improve the condition of every average citizen in the country. π
Dave Ramsey has built a veritable empire around a simple idea: debt is bad, and having debt makes you bad. His paeans to capitalism and paranoia about socialism help to scare his audience away from basic policies that might tangibly improve their lives. https://t.co/eh0ep6a5o9
Glad this guy is off the streets. I was also touched inappropriately by him at the Brewhouse. Clearly he doesn't respect women's right to not be sexually harrased. @TheGazette
