Vickrum Digwa's family disrupted his sentencing hearing by shouting at Henry Nowak's family, calling the judge racist, and had to be restrained by court security.

The same thing happens in grooming gang trials. The families of the perpetrators yell "I love you dad!" despite hearing the crimes they inflicted on British children.

Their families and the perpetrators themselves have interrupted court proceedings, calling the police and judge racist, accused the state of a conspiracy against Pakistanis, and harassed the victims.

You do not understand these people. They have no guilt. The morally good thing to do in their culture is to lie, save face, preserve izzat. They stand by their own, no matter the horrors they visit on us.

We just cannot live with these people. They shouldn't be here.

Andy Burnham had the power to stop the grooming gangs, but chose not to.

He spent his career minimising them, calling it “propaganda” and saying campaigners were “creating hate”.

He served in the Home Office under David Blunkett at a time when reports of widespread abuse poured in.

In 2003, survivor “Amy,” forced into sex acts with multiple men at just 13 years old, reported her ordeal to South Yorkshire Police.

The blood and DNA evidence she provided inexplicably disappeared.

Her family wrote directly to the Home Office.

Nothing was done. 

Just months after Burnham took up his role as a Home Office minister, Greater Manchester Police closed down Operation Augusta.

This was set up after the horrific death of 15-year-old Victoria Agoglia, injected with heroin by a 50-year-old man.

Instead of pursuing justice for Victoria, the police blamed her “propensity to provide sexual favours.”

The perpetrator received a pathetic three-and-a-half-year sentence and was never charged with causing her death.

When the full horror in Greater Manchester finally emerged, Burnham as Mayor resisted calls for a proper national inquiry for years.

He only launched a limited local review after a TV documentary forced his hand.

Even that process was crippled.

The two men leading the review resigned after being blocked from accessing critical information.

The report itself revealed that authorities feared inflaming community tensions more than protecting children from repeated rape.

Maggie Oliver, the brave whistleblower said "when it comes to leadership and courage and gripping what is going on now, unfortunately, he turned away",

As a result "we missed a huge opportunity to bring changes that are needed".

Survivors have heckled and booed him at public meetings.

His reply? He stands by his record and accuses his critics of “creating hate”.

Not a single council worker or police officer in Greater Manchester has faced criminal proceedings for their role in this betrayal.

Now this shameless man seeks to use the very communities he betrayed to catapult him to higher office.

He is a disgrace and if he had any shame would apologise and bow out of this race.

An ancient Briton stood before the slave empire of Rome. 🇮🇹

And asked them a question that shamed them into silence. ❓

His name was Caratacus.

His people called themselves the Pretannoi. Greek explorers wrote their name down in 325 BC. The Romans would later call them Britanni.

The name of this island was older than the empire that came to break it.

⚔️ In 43 AD, Rome invaded. Caratacus and his people fought. They lost their lands.

But Caratacus did not stop. He fled west to the mountains of what is now Wales. He rallied two more tribes. The Silures and the Ordovices.

For 9 years he fought Rome from the Welsh mountains. The Romans called him the most dangerous enemy in Britain.

In 51 AD they finally cornered him. His army was destroyed. He fled north for sanctuary and was put in chains and given to Rome.

They marched him 1,500 miles. His wife, his daughter, his brothers, all in chains.

The Romans expected him to beg. They had heard the others beg.

🏛️ They brought him before the Roman Senate. The most powerful body of men in the known world. And one Briton stood before them in chains.

He spoke:

"Had your ancestors been more moderate, I might have come to this city as a friend, not a captive."

"Why, when you wish to rule the world, must it follow that the world should welcome slavery?"

"Grant me life, and I shall be an everlasting example of your mercy."

The Senate sat in silence.

Claudius ordered his chains struck off.

The Briton who had fought Rome for 9 years would live the rest of his life a free man in the heart of it.

He was the first Briton on record to refuse Slavery. He would not be the last.

⚖️ In 1772 a London court ruled no man could be held as a slave on English soil.

⚖️ In 1807 the House of Commons banned the slave trade.

🔥 The slave empire of Rome could not make the world welcome Slavery. And the British have been refusing it ever since.

Independent councillor John Edwards is being punished for telling the truth about the scale and impact of the Afghan resettlement scheme.

@John_EdwardsUK raised concerns about Afghan migrants being housed in a local four-star hotel, with onsite healthcare, wraparound support, and assistance moving into the private rental market — including deposits being paid for them.

None of this was secret. It was all in the public domain. But the council didn’t like John asking questions.

Anonymous complaints from a Lib Dem councillor and council staff triggered a year-long investigation costing taxpayers £15,000.

After John was cleared, the council brought forward yet another charge — accusing him of bringing his office into disrepute.

John now faces a hearing before some of the very councillors who branded him a racist.
