The Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children is an organization of people interested in the education & welfare of children & their families!
While many states are establishing emergency care “for” first responders, Virginia was the first I’ve seen to rightfully acknowledge that child care providers are serving “as first responders.” So true. Thank you @VDSS@FirstLadyVA https://t.co/2gQ8oy3522
#Childcare programs are closed to protect children and our communities. But without immediate assistance, they may never open again. Congress, don't let that happen. #FundChildCare with $50 billion in the emergency stimulus bill. #ChildCareNow@NAEYC
In an attempt to #FlattenTheCurve, child care programs across the country have closed. Yet, many #childcare providers will never reopen unless Congress decides to #FundChildCare with $50 billion in the emergency stimulus bill!
Congress must #FundChildCare to ensure that essential and emergency workers can be supported while they serve our communities and child care stays in business for the future.
#Childcare programs are closed to protect children and our communities. They are acting in the public's interest. They are a public good. And they need public assistance. Without it, they may never open again. Congress, #FundChildCare! #ChildCareNow
#Childcare stands in an essential position in the immediate response to this crisis and the coming recovery. Families cannot work without care for their #babies and young children. Congress, as you make emergency decisions, you must #FundChildCare@timkaine@MarkWarner
#FundChildCare
America is on the verge of losing more than half of its #childcare programs in the next week IF there isn’t significant public investment & support so that they can compensate & retain staff, pay rent & cover fixed costs. Congress, #FundChildCare! #ChildCareNow@MarkWarner
Child care is an essential service and without it, we would not be able to effectively respond to the #COVIDー19 pandemic. However, without $50 billion in emergency stimulus funding, the #childcare industry will collapse. Congress, #FundChildCare because we need #ChildCareNow!
#Childcare plays an important role during public health & economic emergencies. Congress must support the child care system in their #COVID19 stimulus. #FundChildCare#ChildCareNow
Last week, @ZEROTOTHREE sent Congress 10 recs for action needed to safeguard the well-being of young children amid the #COVID19 crisis. Now we need your help to call attn to the needs of babies & families: https://t.co/cLKvtCKbsl #ThinkBabiesandAct#FundChildCare#ChildCareNow
In Virginia, 27% of programs would not survive closing for more than two weeks without significant public investment; 18% would not survive a closure of any length of time; 54% have lost income based on families' inability to pay. @GerryConnolly@DonBeyerVA@RepWexton
The outlook is clear: without immediate financial relief, 1000s of #childcare centers & homes will close-permanently. We join w/@ECEConsortium & others in calling on #Congress to #FundChildCare w/$50B in stimulus to stabilize this essential industry. https://t.co/4y1vCBMslU
In an attempt to #FlattenTheCurve, child care programs across the country have closed. Yet, many #childcare providers will never reopen unless Congress decides to #FundChildCare with $50 billion in the emergency stimulus bill! #TakeAction https://t.co/gPvIGYaAYI
