@HelenKennedy It's probably Portuguese Chorizo which was adapted in India via Goa. It is neither like Spanish or Mexican. I've eaten all of them. More like a spicy, intensely flavored sausage.
One thing the movie Coco didn't address is what happens if someone was kidnapped years ago by a drug cartel and you presume they are dead. Do they go on the family altar? I wish this was only an abstract problem.
Social networks don't change overnight it is true but the process has to start and then there is a slow landslide. When I joined Twitter in 2006 it was a ghost town. It took years to gain momentum. The important thing is to start.
My mom sent me pictures of the altar she set up in our house for Dia de Muertos. Seeing all the people you have loved and lost in one place brings up a lot of feelings...
I find it amazing to live in a city where things are getting better in realtime. Streets redesigned, cars removed, more public transport added etc. When something doesn't "work" you know it will be fixed soon here..
Amsterdam wasn’t always like it is today. In the 50s-60s they surrendered to cars too. But starting in the ‘70s, they chose to change. And they kept choosing to change for decades. They’re STILL choosing to change, as @schlijper’s great pics show.
Your city can choose to change.
@seldo It is called Granovetters threshold model of collective behavior. It is also why once one car starts honking at a light others soon join in. https://t.co/clGXQhGGLl
The average high temp for November here in Amsterdam is 50F. The record high is 64F. This weekend it is expected to hit 70F! There will be people walking around in t-shirts in Amsterdam in November...
@CXGonzalez Same in UK. In the Netherlands, you need a job to get an apartment. You need a BSN (Residence ID) to get a job. You need an apartment to get a BSN.
The US and UK are rapidly becoming unlivable places for anyone other than the ultra-wealthy. In both places it is lack of regulations that protect people. In the US also lack of Universal Healthcare. In the UK, Brexit made it worse. In both, there is actual war against the poor.
@mathowie Atlanta airport is the only airport I have vowed never to fly through. I once did a xfer there and me we were detained by immigration officers, no reason given. We were questioned in a back room and they wouldn't tell us why. They let us go but the experience made me so angry.
@PrueLeith@BritishBakeOff@Channel4 This is the daily bake from an artisanal local bakery from my family's small hometown, Comala, Colima Mexico
They do everything by hand, no electrical machines at all
Mexican sweet bread is the best and should be known more around the world
