@SSF1991 It's never gonna happen, but I'd like the GBA title, Sonic Battle, to be remade into a modern full 3D game. Main reason being that it has one of the best stories in the series but many people miss out on it due to it being an old GBA game (with questionable gameplay tbh).

In #FFX Yuna says “I love you” in English, but in Japanese her line is “arigatou” aka “thank you”. How did this change come about and why is the original line an expression of gratitude rather than a confession of love? Here's my take on it.

@PinkGeekNeni This is also a shame for those of us who wanted to experience the actual story (and dialogue) Ian Flynn wrote but prefer the Japanese VAs for the cast. 😅 I guess I'll have to do 2 playthrus now, 1 for each language, because mixing JP voices with ENG subs is headache inducing. 😔

@PinkGeekNeni I see, thanks for the info! In the past the English translations tended to be somewhat shoddy and unfaithful to the original script, but this JP translation of Frontiers seems messier than any of them! Hopefully the backlash will make them pick someone more experienced next time.

@selipse4 @DistantValhalla Exactly, the claims that it sounds google translated don't make much sense. If it did, it would resemble the English script but in a super literal and awkward way. Instead it just sounds straight up rewritten.

@miisa_shion Kishimoto claims here that the content of the story wasn't changed (with the translation), but even so, the dialogue is so radically different from English to Japanese that it might as well have. What a shame. This makes playing with JP voices and ENG subtitles an utter mess.

@ifoundyoufaker Nobutoshi Canna is amazing and will always be the best Knuckles. He's been voicing him since 1998 and still sounds exactly the same.

@SoaHCity They haven't included him in anything after Sonic 06. That was the last time they got his character right. Everything afterwards was a distorted one-dimensional caricature. 😔

@BoundingComics I would say this sounds too good to be true, but honestly not even a retooling could undo the damage already done in season 1. Still, it would be a relief if Payne and McKay were never allowed near a Tolkien adaptation again, and I might actually give season 2 a chance then.

@RingsOfPrime @whitecachalot Yep. If they make him a Blue Wizard now, all the parallels, hints, and references to Gandalf would be just contrived misdirections for the audience. They wrote themselves into a corner. If it's Gandalf, it's utterly lore breaking, if it's not, it's terribly disingenuous writing.

@TheRingsofPowre 4. Poor pacing, clumsy writing, overreliance on cheap narrative tricks like protracted mystery boxes, obvious death fake outs, and constant references to PJ’s movies. And of course, no respect for the source material, which was rushed and butchered to make way for fanfiction.

@RingsOfPrime In the books Galadriel was one of the few people not to be deceived by Sauron. In RoP she was more deceived and manipulated by him than literally anyone else. They spat on Tolkien's story and twisted it inside out. What a sorry excuse for an "adaptation".

@RingsOfPrime Even after realizing her enemy's identity, she still plays right into his hands, choosing to actually follow his advice and not reveal a thing to anyone. Even after a full season, the protagonist is still a perpetual screwup. They absolutely massacred Galadriel's character.
