I read this take often and it's the stupidest way to put it. 50-80 percent of an Indian citizen's wallet is spent indirectly on USD because India makes almost nothing (except food) and imports almost everything. The kind of Rupee depreciation we have seen in one FY (10-12 pc) is extremely harmful to India.
