This isn't just for New Jersey, this is a bill that will apply to the *entire* USA.
and "at OS level" could apply to far more systems than just a phone. A CAR has an OS.
We need to fight back and push hard against this. This is a major infringement upon our first and fourth amendments. This is going to be used to censor us and force us to have no more privacy.
Reminder #1000 that ID age verification laws are getting passed extremely fast in virtually all governments. This is an organized attempt at destroying our privacy
The "AI Child Safety" Bill in Arizonia is a backdoor digital ID and VPN ban. This has nothing to do with being a good parent and everything to do with establishing a surveillance state.

- Open Source Initiative
- Free Software Foundation
- Software Freedom Conservancy
💯
OS age verification law: "You no longer own your computer".
It violates the First, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments.
No OS has to comply - "any law repugnant to the Constitution is null and void". Developers who do deserve class-action lawsuits.
People cannot let this slide. If the Epstein files slide, that might be enough to tip myself and many others over the edge. The idea that people can get away with it, hell, be rewarded for it is too much for my brain to calculate.

This is the part of the age verification debate that more people are waking up to.
Not whether kids should be protected (they should).
Whether uploading your ID and face to access a weather app is a smart way to do it.
What an interesting framing they’ve given to this people-tracking software uses lasers to single out individuals in crowds and track them using a computer database
