Choice is All yours.
I have accepted few things software development in the age of AI:
- Manual coding/reviewing will be almost dead in a couple of years except in mission critical systems
- Organizations only need a very few skilled developers to be accountable.
Once I accept that, my mind start thinking about what should I do to prepare myself for the future instead of worrying about how things will turn out.
The one lesson I learned after experimenting with life is that, if you wanna live life to the fullest, only believe in the legality imposed by states (because not following it has legal consequences), not in society’s ideas of morality, shame, modesty, embarrassment, and social decorum.
They’re all imaginary societal constraints that differ from place to place and person to person, and differ across class, caste, and religion. You’re not a slave to any of them, conditioned to follow them, if you believe in having your own agency.

You are right. Let me add more depth to it.
Being funny like a clown and being funny like a wise man are two completely different spectrums.
As it's always cliché advice: women like or get attracted to "funny guys."
Yes, it is true that they are attracted to or like them, just as the grass is always greener on the other side. Once they get a funny guy or live with him for a day, then they come to the realization that what felt funny to them is nothing but idiotic, clownish, and childish.
In deeper truth, women are attracted to or like a guy who doesn't take them seriously. Taking things in a fun way makes them feel that this guy is not taking my presence seriously, so he is superior, not being influenced by my presence, and can lead my life in a good way.
But being funny to impress women and being funny when you understand women and can't take them seriously is what sets apart the relationship of women with those different funny idiots and funny wise guys.
Moreover, a wise guy can't be funny with women unless he is spiritual.
So, only a spiritually wise, funny guy is the true example of what women like in the category of men they are attracted to as "funny guys."
So the question becomes:
what is the difference between the clown's humor and the wise man's humor, if both make her laugh in the moment?
The clown's humor is a request. Every joke is a small question:
"Do you like me now?
Am I enough now?"
He performs because he is afraid of the silence, and he fills the silence because he is afraid of what she will think of him inside it.
--->
One more deeper aspect is that yogis have mastery over silence. They can remain in moments without any thoughts, while a normal person can't remain in absolute silence with a woman. Either they will be taken over by their thoughts or by her presence.
Not taking her seriously in a deeper sense means that your body, mind, and senses remain fully controlled in the presence of a woman—a complete silence.
--->
now coming back his humor has a direction: it points at her, seeking her approval. That is why it exhausts her after a day. She can feel that she is holding him up. What looked like lightness was actually weight, handed to her.
The wise man's humor is not a request; it is an overflow. He is not funny for her. He is funny because he has already seen through the seriousness of life, things, including his own seriousness, including hers. He laughs at the situation, at the ego, at the drama, at himself.
She is welcome to laugh with him, but the laughter does not depend on her. That independence is the real attraction. She is not being entertained; she is being invited into a way of seeing that charlie Chaplin put so well " Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot."
This is why "not taking her seriously" is so easily misunderstood. It does not mean dismissing her, mocking her, or treating her as small.
That is just the clown again, in a different costume, still reacting to her, only now in reverse. Not taking her seriously means not taking her moods as the weather of your life.
Her approval does not raise him, her disapproval does not lower him. He can hear her, care for her, and still remain in his own center. A woman tests for exactly this, usually without knowing she is testing, because she wants to know whether the man standing in front of her is a ground she can stand on, or a mirror that shakes when she shakes.
And here the spiritual part stops being a decoration and becomes the foundation. You cannot fake that center. A man who has not seen through his own fear of rejection will always, at some point, need her to like him, and the moment he needs it, the humor turns back into a request.
Only a man who has made some peace with impermanence, who knows that she may stay or leave and that either way he remains himself, can be light with a woman without using the lightness as a hook. His humor is the fragrance of his detachment, not a strategy to end it.
So the cliché is not wrong, only shallow. Women are attracted to funny men. But the humor they are actually responding to is not the jokes. It is the freedom behind the jokes. The clown has jokes without freedom. The wise man has freedom, and the jokes simply follow.
A final distinction, and perhaps the most practical one: the clown's humor gets louder when he is insecure, while the wise man's humor gets quieter and gentler. If you want to know which one you are on a given day, notice what your humor does when she pulls away.
If it speeds up and reaches for her, it is asking. If it stays calm and lets her go, it is free.
Fellow software engineers, we had a good run but I think it's fine to admit that it was the cushiest job of all time. High paying, you got to sit on your ass in front of a computer, and everyone else had to treat you as a delicate genius priest class.
