@GovParsonMO Hi, my name is Kiren Valjee and I am writing regarding the impending execution of Marcellus Williams. Please do not let Missouri execute Marcellus, an innocent person. Give truth and justice a chance.
@amshulman Hi! Just read your piece on Bolaño’s legacy from LitHub last year. Thank you for that! I’m an American fan of Bolaño visiting Barcelona and wondered if you knew of any cafes or spots that Señor Bolaño would frequent. A nerdy request, I know, but much appreciated :)
I just finished reading @scottieandrew ‘s piece on @legroff ‘s new store The Lynx and find it extremely offensive that neither Lauren nor Scottie mentioned the work Third House Books did to provide a sanctuary and space for marginalized voices for the last 8 years.
It’s just really disappointing to have built a store focused on marginalized voices, founded, owned, and run by marginalized identities be effectively erased by privileged voices in their own community.
And Emily is correct in that the Jewish community was not given that chance in the hours after. But it is especially tragic that they perhaps won't ever get the chance because of the brutal retaliation of the the Israeli State. I say this as a supporter of a Free Palestine.
@marysdesk thank you for this latest episode. One of the tragedies I see is something Emily mentioned. Israel's response has been so swift and so devastatingly murderous that it has erased the ability to grieve the casualties of the October 7th attack.
@commiexmommie The thing about these type of interactions that really gets me is how much that customer doesn’t realize she has in common with you. That you’re both just suffering from the consequences of unfettered capitalism.
