This is my new account. Old one did a Caleb after a phishing attempt.

I genuinely thought that, after everything that happened with Valko, if there was one community that would understand what we're going through, it would be Caleb girlies.
They spent so long dealing with uncertainty, constantly having to defend Caleb's place in the game simply because he was the latest LI to join. And that pressure only seemed to ease when Valko entered the picture. So seeing some of the most extreme Caleb fans become some of the loudest Valko antis has honestly been one of the most disappointing things to witness.
And please, I'm specifically talking about that toxic minority, NOT Caleb fans as a whole. I actually really like Caleb. I love his complexity as a character, which makes this whole situation even more upsetting to me.
I made a post about this before, but after everything I've seen on my feed tonight, I don't think it's ever felt more relevant.
What I genuinely don't understand is how these people aren't worried about what happens next. Because in THEIR minds, once the Valko controversy is over, Caleb will be the latest LI again. He'll still be the one expected to prove he deserves his place. And if it weren't Caleb, it would be Sylus. If it weren't Sylus, it would be Zayne, Xavier or Rafayel. Where does it end?
It's an endless cycle of hate, with the community constantly finding someone new to question, blame or push aside.
And when I read some of these incredibly pessimistic takes about the game's future, its revenue, its resources... I can't help but wonder what kind of future these people actually imagine for LADS. If the game is supposedly struggling as badly as they claim, wouldn't that eventually mean budget cuts and difficult decisions? And in that scenario, wouldn't the newest LI be particularly vulnerable? Personnally, I'd be concerned.
I just don't understand how people can be so convinced that the game is heading towards disaster while simultaneously celebrating the possibility of another character being pushed aside. How is that supposed to benefit anyone?
Anyway, I think I'm just feeling a little exhausted tonight. Not because I've lost faith in Valko's return. I still firmly believe he's coming, and that hasn't changed one bit. But I'm getting tired of the constant hostility within this community, sometimes even from our own side.
I wish we could remember that we're all here because we love this game and its characters. We don't have to love every LI, agree on everything or share the same expectations for the future. But surely we can show each other a little more empathy?
There's already enough negativity going around. Maybe we could try spreading a little love instead.
