facial recognition has been in LADS since at least 2025. i can't confirm right now if ppg is enforcing this feature in the game due to the rectification and the minor protection campaign online, but it certainly seems that way to me.

users on XHS are commenting that the game only requested facial verification on rare occasions, and just one day before the news of the police enforcement for this campaign on CCTV, users started getting the pop-up message and kids are worried about it. i really hope their accounts get closed because LADS content is not something that does them any good at that young age.
