🔴Zimbabwean journalist Golden Maunganidze has earned a PhD in Journalism from the University of Johannesburg in South Africa.
A recent trend has emerged of Zimbabwean journalists, particularly those with experience, pursuing PhDs and entering academia.
While not universal, this shift has now become a notable phenomenon within the country's media landscape.
TellZim Director Golden Maunganidze @vamaunga received an Outstanding Alumni in Media and Journalism Award at the Zimbabwe Exchange Alumni Awards recently held in Harare by the @USEmbZim . Maunganidze, who is also the current @MISARegional and @misazimbabwe National Chairperson won the award as recognition of the work he does in advancing media and journalistic work in the country. A 2016 @WashFellowship alumni, Maunganidze, a media lecturer and also Director of the Great Zimbabwe Campus Radio (the first campus radio in Zimbabwe to be licensed) has trained hundreds of journalists across the country, as well as promoting access to information in marginalized communities through various initiatives.
