In 2014, 370 British Columbians died of an overdose.
In 2023, that number was 2,589.
That's a 600% increase over the past decade.
The introduction of safe supply and supervised consumption sites has coincided with the explosion in deadly overdoses.
Will @blue_townhalls own the anti-safe supply vote? Will ABC pivot from their prior support?

Scoop: A group of Conservative activists have launched https://t.co/fU8ZqlPNi2, urging Ken Charko to seek the Conservative Electors Association nomination for Mayor of Vancouver.
Charko was the 2025 federal Conservative candidate in Vancouver Quadra and ran for the NPA in 2022.

Ken Sim’s greatest ally? Sean Orr and COPE.
A credible COPE Mayoral candidate would prevent OneCity from consolidating the left-leaning vote.
Ken’s path to victory is far harder with a unified left.

There's significant problems with rodents in Vancouver schools. This is terrible to talk about, but it has directly affected many. VSB Admin Procedure 547 states a "right to know" but parents have been left out of health and safety committees. We need transparency in facilities planning, especially on facility issues that directly affect health.

There are independents on the Park Board. There are independents on the Vancouver School Board.
For a new municipal party, there is no better way to show legitimacy than going into the election with incumbents.
ABC was a “new party” in 2022. Having incumbent council candidates made them far more credible.

It’s important to remember that Twitter engagement, Google Trends and the like are a terrible way to gauge support.
Just ask Prime Minister Maxine Bernier.
This is as true at the municipal level as it is provincially.
Ken Sim didn’t Tweet his way to victory in 2022. He raised the most money, had a consistent and resonant message, and hammered away at the incumbent.
All while being hated on Twitter.

Vancouver’s rat problem is getting so bad that hospitals are becoming infested, forcing patients out.
On top of that, dozens of schools have become overrun with rodents, generating hundreds of complaints.
The Province of British Columbia introduced a near-total ban on strong rodenticides in 2021 due to environmental concerns, as rodenticides can harm other species.
As Vancouver’s rat population explodes, this issue may become more prominent.

The Vancouver Conservatives are leading with 32% of the vote in the latest @Mainstreethfx poll.
Their nominee for Mayor has a clear shot at City Hall’s top job.
There is a deep bench of Conservative talent within the City of Vancouver. This nomination race could determine the winner next fall.

A @Conservative_BC leadership race triggered by Rustad’s (potential) resignation could have a huge impact on the upcoming Vancouver municipal race.
Donors, staffers and volunteers could flock to that race, leaving right-leaning municipal parties in the dust.

@prescottkatrina Based on the replies, it looks like I’ll have to next time. Twitter only allows four options, and OneCity has two credible candidates for Mayor
