Last week, the Trump administration cut over 400 million in federal funds to Columbia. On Monday, labs were informed that NIH research grants were 2/3 of the cut. On Tuesday, we learned that it was all trainee grants that were cut (T32s, F30/31s). Yesterday, CU received this.

Mind you - NYPD was called in one day into initial protests, students were arrested and expelled, and the university has been on lock down for over a year now.

Today #NIH is terminating more than $250 million in funding—including more than 400 grants—to Columbia University following directives from the Trump Administration’s Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism. The cancellations are due to Columbia University’s continued inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students.

@AcademicChatter I've been given advice not to mention mental illness in psych/neuro PhD apps because it will make you sound unequipped for a demanding program.. is this true?
Sounds very discriminative.. mental illness has fueled my psych research interests for years.. SOS! :(
