Thanks to all the Upminster bakers who came to tonight's Caribbean extravaganza! A night of patties, pineapple, coconut and rum cakes, all totally delish, and it was lovely to welcome some new friends too.

Anyone practising for Caribbean night? We've had a dry run but without a scotch bonnet pepper (Waitrose failed me)
Be warned, if I do manage to get one I'm not afraid to use it!

And what about Mothers day? Anyone making their mum a cake?

Anyone practising their Caribbean bakes? We've had a dry run, without scotch bonnet pepper (Waitrose failed me) and it was fine.

If I do manage to get hold of one though I won't be afraid to use it, so beware when tasting!

Anyone baking a cake for Mothers Day?
