1/ Unfortunately, the EP committees have voted in favor of the TFR passages that crack down on indiv. privacy & wallets.
The amendments are a huge setback for crypto in the EU & should be repealed in the trilogues.
Here are some examples of worrisome real-world consequences 👇
@FreshPrinceCan @kromark You can look away from the horrible reality of war but it won't make it go away. You may be fully aware of the severity of the situation but for many people, seeing actual pictures is the only way to get them to take this tragedy seriously. It's harsh but definitely justified.
⚠️ #RussiaInvadedUkraine Today, on February 24 at 5AM, the armed forces of the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine. #StayWithUkraine, stay tuned for updates on Ukraine’s official sources and channels in English and support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy in Europe.
For the past two weeks, I've been targeted in an extremely thorough social engineering scam that nearly cost me all of my ETH. I'm super lucky to have made it through unscathed. Here's the story 👇
@CharlieJBitcoin @CryptoGrampy But I'm guessing at current network strength (mkt cap), it might be easier to take out monero, but one would need to do some calculations (problem is manufacturing price of ASICS isn't well known)
@CharlieJBitcoin @CryptoGrampy I think on average dumb work like mining will always be less profitable than smart work like running a website, so there won't be much financial incentive.
For coercive I still think it's easier take out few centralized hubs dedicated to only one job vs CPUs
Blockchain surveillance is the next ad tech. Think Facebook ads are creepy? Wait til merchants know your net worth and shopping history because you aren't using a privacy coin like Monero.
Freedom of peaceful assembly is the individual right or ability of people to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue, and defend their collective or shared ideas. It is recognized as a human right, a political right and a civil liberty.
#monero PSA. Check your tx fee when using a random remote node. a user recently posted on reddit that they got hit with a ~4 xmr tx fee. Current explanation is that the remote node operator was nefarious - the monero daemon is responsible for calculating the fee.
RUN URE OWN NODE
1/ Figured it would be fun to do a quick recap of my year as 2021 was a year of *many* firsts, large changes in the way I approach technology, and the year I truly got serious about personal privacy.
It's been a wild last 12mo 👇
Near the launch of SLOBS, @streamlabs reached out to us about using the OBS name. We kindly asked them not to. They did so anyway and followed up by filing a trademark
We’ve tried to sort this out in private and they have been uncooperative at every turn

omfg… etherium was created as a cope for a world of warcraft nerf?? im losing my fucking mind. imagine being so mad you… what the fuck https://t.co/BX3rrWAtKk
The reasoning behind the old "I have nothing to hide" defense of surveillance abuses is humiliating, if you think it through.
Essentially:
1) Only those who stand out are targeted
2) I do not stand out
3) I cannot stand out
4) Phew, I'm safe
weird flex but ok
Decentralized governance is necessary, but coin voting governance in its current form has many acknowledged and unacknowledged dangers. Augmenting or moving beyond coin voting is a key part of the solution:
