Artsakh Public TV has resumed its activities.
This announcement was made on Facebook by the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, who also shared a video.
He noted: "Artsakh Public TV is resuming its activities with a small team, but with an extremely important role: to do everything possible to foster social connections among the people of Artsakh, preserve the unique aspects of Armenian identity and the Artsakh dialect, highlight the issues concerning the people of Artsakh, and regularly voice their opinions."
The journalists of Artsakh Public TV have established the "10th Province" journalistic public organization, with its first project being Artsakh Public TV. Initially, its activities will be carried out exclusively on social media.
In the light of the recognition of the State of Palestine by the Republic of Armenia, we are highly concerned of the double standard approach to Artsakh. The fundamental right to self-determination of 150,000 indigenous people of Artsakh has not been recognized by the authorities of Armenia, even when the same crime of genocide was committed by Azerbaijan in September 2023. The human rights are universal, and we expect to see a more balanced and just policy of the Republic of Armenia in this regard.
It has come to our attention that the subreddit r/armenia has banned 301 and other media outlets on its channel since the 2020 war. This raises significant concerns about the principles of free speech and open discourse within the community.
Reddit, as a platform, is built on the foundation of user-generated content and the free exchange of ideas. When a subreddit, particularly one dedicated to a nation and its people, begins to selectively censor certain media outlets, it undermines the diversity of perspectives that is essential for a healthy, informed community.
301 and other censored outlets provide valuable viewpoints and information that contribute to the overall understanding of current events and cultural discussions. By restricting access to these sources, r/armenia is not only limiting the information available to its members but also stifling healthy debate and critical thinking.
Additionally, over the years its become apparent that hundreds if not thousands of Armenians have been banned from the subreddit for questioning the decisions of Pashinyan and those currently within the government. This pattern of silencing dissenting voices further erodes trust and fosters an environment of exclusion rather than inclusion.
We are cautioning all of our followers that, despite r/armenia’s description states “It is a place for civil, open-minded and constructive dialogue”, it is instead a heavily censored space echo chamber which limits what type of information, and topics can be discussed and to be wary of its moderators' actions.
Another flawed irresponsible statement by @USAmbYerevan. Under intern’l law, freedom to assemble is a recognized form of democratic participation & further PROTESTS must be PROTECTED by all. @usembarmenia must stop defending and funding police brutality, aggression and violence.
Severed arms, head injuries, fractured ribs while police fire stun and fragmentation grenades at peaceful protestors and beat journalists in 🇦🇲. “Democracy” thriving in the reign of nikol. Fear lingers inside Civil Contract party. The end of this evil will come sooner than later.
nikol’s guards checking every seat before he appears in the parliament. Normally this should be checked by parliament’s security, but nikol trusts no one, including alen simonyan.
Nikol represents the cowards in Armenia, the loners, the bums, the deserters, the disenfranchised, All those who want to see everyone else suffer because of their self perceived misfortune.
These are our true representatives….
Strength, Intellect, Discipline, sacrifice!
@SubnationalDip@zsinanyan While you were meeting with this disgrace — who is only remembered in Glendale for his vulgar racist, sexist, homophobic online tirade — Pashinyan’s police were violently suppressing protesters and assaulting journalists.
I call on everyone to join the next rally as the movement enters its next phase. The time has come for decisive actions.
