@IsaacKing314@jeremyphoward@BenShindel Here’s the top-of-mind example that has been cited for this sin frequently enough that Yud came back to add a disclaimer but (AFAIK) only after years of it causing confusion without any clarification:
@TheUltimator5 In Jan 2021, the spreads didn't start getting particularly wide for GME until after 18th, just over a week before the sneeze. Sec 3.8, titled "Available Liquidity for GME", in particular Fig 9, pgs 38/39 notes how the sneeze coincided with max spreads:

@Aella_Girl @Spectrofillia @a3voices The negligence is from the failure of the system, though: "Lots of people starve" isn't part of its goals, and stalinism/maoism/etc. get used as the terms for the intentionally genocidal flavors
@Tiggersdad2 @ChuckHodl @FinanceLancelot@peruvian_bull @G_ForVendetta @TheRoaringKitty FWIW, a large part of the gme community did/does think a large trading volume would’ve happened regardless. Hence all the chatter about ETFs, quarterly spikes, etc.., the consensus being that RK’s just riding the same cycles as everyone else (ETF fwds/futs and dispersion trades)
@Tiggersdad2 @Playful_Hobbit @peruvian_bull I think the implication is it comes out in the wash for XRT market makers, with dispersion trading being so hot right now
@Tiggersdad2@JerryDeeTi Nah, JT gets it. People give up on the moon ticket last. If the market crashes, the embedded call in GME increases in value, because their war chest is more capable. Might act more like a long SPY put or even straddle if they're good at stock picking.
@nipomo357@kay_enne@Mr_Derivatives Because silence is still ~75% the expected outcome, right? (IMHO) I know everyone's amped because Roaring Kitty coming in like a bat out of hell, but GameStop & RC may be as surprised as us.
The most badass dismount from a long vol position I've ever seen in my life, though.
@rsandler21969 Yeah, more traditional investments is where most my other funds get allocated.
I've heard Berkshire has crazy AGMs, but after the show these last few weeks, there's nothing else even comparable. Given the community & entertainment, I'm just pleased the premium isn't higher.
@6days1week@TheUltimator5 Fidelity. They told me it was going to take *a month* to get the report! (despite the law being 7 biz days, I think?) They didn't even ever give me it, and I was too angry to keep pushing w/o threatening legal/complaints, so I dropped it. Might take another try at it now.
