🚨 Dinesh Karthik on whether Virat Kohli can reach 100 International Hundreds 🎙️
" If there is anybody who can do it, it is Virat Kohli. I am sure at some phase in his life, he scored 14 hundreds in 36 matches. But It is very hard. Very, very hard. But if there is a person right now in the world of cricket who can do it, there is only one man: Virat Kohli.
But I would not put that pressure on him. I would go down the route of letting him enjoy. Whether he finishes on 95 hundreds or 90 hundreds or finishes on 86 hundreds, the joy that he has given us for over a decade, decade and a half, is what we should enjoy "
idk how to explain this but a small part of me is still looking for virat kohli on the field.
we won.
we actually did it again.
back to back world cups in a format where even staying consistent feels like a miracle.
and i’m genuinely happy.
happy for this team. happy for the way they handled the pressure. happy for sanju samson, a comeback story that took years of patience and doubt and silence.
but somewhere in the middle of all this celebration & noise… there’s a small void.
the kind you don’t realise exists until the game begins and you subconsciously wait for someone to walk in.
virat charging across the field.
rohit with that calm awkward expression before a big moment. that familiar feeling of our guys are still here.
and then you realise… time moved.
this team is new now.
and that’s when it hits you , this is probably how the previous generation felt too.
when people slowly stopped seeing saurav ganguly walking out to bat. when sachin tendulkar wasn’t there anymore to carry the hopes of millions of people. when gautam gambhir’s intensity disappeared from big games or even earlier when kapil dev’s era quietly ended.
every generation grows up obsessing over a specific set of players.
you defend them in arguments.
you memorise their innings.
you fight for them against the odds.
you measure every new player against them.
and then one day they’re gone… and the game keeps going.
new heroes arrive. new stories begin.
maybe a few years from now some kid will grow up watching this current team and believe this was the greatest indian side ever.
the same way we believed ours was.
that’s the strange beauty of sport.
players change. teams evolve. eras end.
but the feeling of belonging to your generation of cricket never really leaves.
Champions ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Phenomenal win for Team India in Ahmedabad. Absolutely no match for the explosive cricket played by us throughout the tournament. Brilliant character shown by the boys to keep fighting in tough situations and become world champions once again. Congratulations to all the players and all the members of the management for achieving this feat. Jai Hind 🇮🇳❤️
A hard pill to swallow, but India pulled off these chases for years on the back of Virat Kohli. Kohli was the backbone of those chases. Now it’s not just his presence missing, it’s the confidence he brought with him.
He did not chase fame or validation. He did not go to meet legends for headlines. He chose to meet Premanand Maharaj Ji, wearing a Tulsi mala, with pure humility. That alone says everything about the man he is. I genuinely feel proud to follow and admire someone like him. A real king, a real idol, disciplined, grounded, and rooted in values. He inspires not just through success, but through how to live life as a good human being. Watching Virat Kohli just feels right.
@chixxsays Australia should bat first and should score around 330-340. And then if India loses a couple of early wickets king kohli will rise again and write off all his critics again by doing the "Let the bat do the talking celebration".
You have two years. Don’t lose hope in two games, Virat Kohli.
Doesn’t matter if they drop you. Fight your way back. But don’t retire.
You’ve carried this team through bigger storms.
We don’t want a perfect ending. We just want to see you fight again💪
Vikrant Gupta on Virat Kohli the selfless cricketer, a must watch/read for all ICT fans:
- Virat declared the inning once when he was 254 not out & could easily score 300,
- He is a typical Delhi aggressive guy who played his cricket with heart on his sleeve,
- There are barely any example of Virat Kohli being selfiesh,
- He left test cricket out of nowhere, not a typical indian trait,
- He was in England for 5 months away from any limelight & did zero PR,
- Virat didn't give a single piece of information for 5 months, at this stage other cricketers do excessive PR.
My comments:
- I know Virat declaring on 254* never got highlighted the way it deserved, we all remember how much hue & cry Sachin made when Dravid declared him on 194* for betterment of team. Sachin even stopped talking to Manjrekar coz Manjrekar appreciated Dravid for that.
- Virat Kohli announced his test captaincy resignation when he was just 1 victory behind Mark Waugh, 7 behind Ponting & 12 behind Graeme Smith to become the captain with most victories in tests, these was no obligation on Virat to resign still he did,
- Virat Kohli announced his T2OI retirement at just age of 35 at 2024 WC when he could easily use his WC win & career stats to play 2026 WC,
- He selflessly gave RCB's captaincy to Rajat Patidar when RCB management themselve wanted Virat back.
This is not end of list but there are 100 more examples of Virat Kohli's selflessness.
@VijayCricketFan T20I's should end completely and only T20 world cups should be played, only way ODI and Test format can get their relevance back. It's time to bring back 5 match Odi series and 3 match Test series atleast (Bilateral series). Odi Tri - Series should make a comeback too
- Kohli would still have been playing tests.
- Rohit would still have been playing tests.
- Kohli's place is almost confirmed for CWC27.
- Rohit would still have been playing as captain.
If Starc hadn't bowled this ball. 💔
Tilak Varma just played a Virat Kohli–like knock against Pakistan, that too in a final. Calm, composed, and clutch under pressure, easily the best innings of his career so far!
