Government of India ministry of finance (DFS)has given a limit of 5 pc of PBT ( for PLI of senior executives)of the relevant financial year to which PLI pertains .
So in case of SBI this limit was 4750 cr PNB 1300 cr BOB 1400 cr UBI 1200 cr can bank 1150 cr for PSB as a whole this limit was around 12000 cr while not more than 2000 cr was actual PLI paid to all senior executives of PSB for fy 2024-25 .
So still 10000 cr pool is available for PLI which can be used for other employees of PSB but till that 20 pc exclusion clause is there this scheme is not worth asking for because for officers alone 85000 officers will get zero PLI if this new scheme of PLI is implemented for all officers .
Then you have 3.40 lakh workmen employees also .
So things are very complicated .

So im terms of market cap we are no 4 whole in terms of total business we are no 3 .

Union bank is an interesting case among all 12 public sector banks it is no 12 in terms of YOY business growth and no 5 in total business size but no 3 in terms of market cap .In one year time frame our market cap has gone down by approx 7 pc while UBI market cap is up by approx 9 pc in this period .very interesting case study .may be market has some special liking for UBI new MD & CEO .

Today is MDBRC and now it is more than a year this monthly review of business by MD sir was started and it is now time to have a closer look at what we have achieved through this monthly review of business by CEO of our bank himself whether intended purpose have been served also we need to rethink over this ranking system whether this is serving its intended purpose because business wise we are not doing well as .even considering the fact that June quarter is a lean season for business traditionally which has been further aggrafevated by large scale cross country transfer of scaie 4 officers still our YOY business of both deposits and credit is more than 300 basis points below scheduled commercial banks .which should worry all stake holders of our bank including union and associations because bank ki tarraki me hi hamari bhi tarraki hai .
Best wishes to all participants for today's MDBRC .from my personal interaction I know many senior and not so senior officers of our bank do not enjoy this review meeting but one has to align with MD & CEO vision and strategy.
