Chilly, wet October evening and this woodblock print gives all manners of cozy.

Microsoft just gave enterprises a way to use Claude instead of Copilot - inside Microsoft 365.
Let that sink in. Microsoft spent billions on OpenAI. Built Copilot into every Office app. And now they're letting Anthropic's Claude plug directly into Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
This isn't a bug. It's strategy.
The integration uses Anthropic's Model Context Protocol to let Claude search your emails, read your documents, analyze Teams chats, and pull from your calendar - all without leaving Microsoft's ecosystem.
For Team and Enterprise customers, admins can enable a shared "company project" where Claude searches across all connected tools simultaneously. Ask about remote work policy and get answers synthesized from HR docs in SharePoint, email threads in Outlook, and team guidelines from various sources.
The twist: You don't need Microsoft Copilot for this to work. Claude operates independently.
Why would Microsoft allow this? Three reasons:
First, they're hedging. OpenAI's exclusivity deal ended with the Stargate project. Microsoft can't rely on being OpenAI's only cloud provider anymore.
Second, enterprise customers demanded model choice. Some teams prefer Claude for reasoning tasks or document analysis. Microsoft can either fight that demand or monetize it through Azure infrastructure.
Third, it's a competitive moat against Google Workspace. If you want best-in-class AI across multiple vendors, you stay on Microsoft 365. If you leave, you lose that flexibility.
Anthropic wins access to millions of enterprise users. Microsoft retains control of the data layer and infrastructure. OpenAI learns that exclusivity clauses expire.
This is what AI competition looks like in 2025 - not winner-take-all, but model pluralism where the platform provider controls distribution.
Today I realized (#TIR ?) that the Tamil Maṉastāpam (மனஸ்தாபம்) is entirely borrowed from Sanskrit. Does this word exist in the other Dravidian languages as well?
