The “Kane wasn’t the best player for his own club” argument is genuinely the dumbest thing I’ve heard.

It stems from a fan voted award. But let’s say ok, Olise was better (for arguments sake).

This award is for club and country. Do an average.

Kane was the 2nd best player for England. Kane was the 2nd best player in the Bundesliga. Kane was a Top 5 player in The UCL.

Yamal was best player in La Liga. Yamal wasn’t even a Top 10 player for Spain. Yamal wasn’t even a Top 5 player in The UCL.

Mbappe was a Top 5 player in La Liga. Mbappe was the best player for England. Mbappe wasn’t even a Top 5 player in The UCL.

Average out this performance in all competitions, Kane showed more consistency than all.
