It's been almost 17 years since I finished high school. Almost 10 years since I've had to write any sort of an exam. Why do I still get nightmares about being late for an exam?! And why on earth does it always have to be mathematics!
@ZachWeiner I couldn't quite explain why I liked Norm Macdonald's brand of comedy. You explained it perfectly. Here's an example. IMHO this the best joke ever told.

@michelewritesit@JoelSherrill Yes Michele, we are doing fine. Hope you and the family are staying safe and healthy. Are you folks affected by Hurricane Ida?
@croor Ah. Seems like we are arguing two different things. My point was about mocking either being equally "fair". Mocking the obese is less fair compared to mocking the anti-vax IMO and that was the argument I was trying to make.
@croor But these are not the same thing right? A person dying of covid because of obesity is not putting others at risk while the anti-vaxxer is. This is a false equivalence argument.
We even have inconsistent moral standards governing when it is and isn't OK to gloat about someone's death from poor health choices within COVID itself:
* Mocking those who die of COVID while unvaccinated: ✅
* Mocking those who die of COVID while obese: 🚫
@croor a) Comparable does not mean equivalent right? This whole conversation started with GG claiming they are equivalent not that they are comparable.
b) Doesn't it? The more harm a stupid idea causes, the more it should be mocked.
@croor It feels like you are making my point for me. Compare the anti-vaxxer influencing others not to take the vaccine to pro-fatter influencing others to become obese.
