"As a south Asian power, Pakistan is permanently number two to India, the wealthier, stronger and more useful nation to the US in that region. But in the Middle East, it believes it can come into its own, with the blessing of US Central Command and Saudi Arabia" https://t.co/FbUtHAgHOt
Youth wasting its time while China is building for next century and America is innovating ! We are indulging in protests after exams are done with & results. Cheap data and Insta reels have made them dumb for aiming higher in life.
Where is the intellect, where is the enterpneur spirit, where is the skill. Most are looking for Government jobs, becoming content creators, or a salaried employees. Rest you will find at jantar mantar !
Which is why India still lags behind China coz we have forgetten our culture, our scientific temper to humanities and ideological causes. As a society we have decayed over last few decades and become more dumber !!
I write in @FT that Iran’s leaders suspected that the MoU was a temporary retreat by the US, intended to relieve pressure on the global economy and prepare for another round of war.
Iran’s current rulers believe that any display of restraint will only invite further American pressure. To deter the US, and to compel it to negotiate in earnest for an end to the war and a broader nuclear deal that would give Tehran the security and economic relief it craves, they believe Iran has to be aggressive and escalate the conflict beyond what the US is prepared to countenance. The one point of leverage Iran is not prepared to part with is its claim to the Strait of Hormuz and its ability to control access to it. Losing dominance in the strait would leave Iran without any leverage in future negotiations. Iran’s leaders have decided that retaining control of the strait is essential to securing future wins at the negotiating table and ensuring that the US implements the deal rather than walking away from it.

Two hours long, but this conversation by @ezraklein with @MrKRudd on all things China and Xi Jinping is very good. Highly recommended. https://t.co/f1bUv3j8om
The problem with the new ‘mistaken identity’ rule is that it sets a dangerous precedent.
Breel Embolo dived, so if called on the field it’s a second yellow, but that wasn’t the decision.
Yet an amendment to IFAB wording before the tournament states: “When the referee shows a yellow or red card but has clearly penalised the wrong player of either team for the offence in question; the offence itself cannot be reviewed except in the context of mistaken identity.”
We saw the same with Tim Ream (originally booked for a foul) and Miguel Almiron (eventually booked for diving) in USA vs. Paraguay.
In both instances, the right decision was reached when revisiting the incidents.
Yet it’s massively open for debate as to whether this is actually ‘mistaken identity’, and that’s the issue.
It’s just a mistake by the referees. Both got sold by a dive. They didn’t mix up players. They just made a bad call on a regular foul and wrongly handed out a yellow card.
So really it’s just a rule allowing VAR to intervene on more minor on-field calls, and that’s the part a lot of people will feel uneasy about.
Latest strikes against Iran make sure that Mojtaba Khamenei does not make his first public appearance in Mashhad at the burial of his father. I’d wager that fear is not that an air strike will be used, but fear is of spooks that have penetrated the inner circles over the years. https://t.co/km0P7g9KPo

There is no requirement or justification for warfare to remove human decision making on target allocation. This is a dystopian slide into anarchic warfare designs and a reminder that states at war should operate within certain guardrails. https://t.co/Oi4UNj0uXT
