People will always have their own perceptions of us, shaped by their experiences and viewpoints. But we know who we truly are. Let’s not be swayed by praise or crushed by criticism. The best version of you is the one that progresses in his growth in Christ.
The idea that Jesus is pleased with large crowds of people proclaiming to know God is such a false narrative from Satan. I heard it said the last large crowd of religious people Jesus dealt with crucified Him. Size doesn’t equate strength, dedication does.
We equate morality to righteousness but it isn’t. Morality is the action of doing good. Righteousness is the heart of doing good. The flesh can do good, but only God can change our motives to be from the heart
Multiple times the Bible calls us to watch. The difficulty in watching is that nothing happens until something actually happens. If we become to casual with our faith because nothing has happened, we will miss the critical moment because we stopped watching. Stay vigilant!
Most of the time when looking at the minor prophets we see the thread of judgement and feel it’s too pervasive to preach in a series. Under the announcements of judgement is always a picture of an area I can change, a vision of God’s character and hope
This year, I been looking to expand our church’s knowledge of the Old Testament by “Majoring on the Minors.” It’s been interesting how these books are so realative to us right now. Tonight we are in chapter 2 of Zephaniah.
