Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble MoS (IC) for Ayush & MoS for Health & Family Welfare participated in the landmark signing of a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU), ICMR-NIRDH and the Ministry of Ayush at the high-level Symposium on ‘Integrative Medicine’ held at Lok Bhawan, Dehradun.

The MoU marks a significant step towards harnessing digital technologies, data-driven research and innovation to advance the integration of Ayush systems of medicine with modern healthcare. The collaboration will strengthen evidence-based research, digital health solutions and innovation, paving the way for a more transparent, accessible and effective healthcare ecosystem.

Symposium on Integrative Medicine was organised by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU), Dehradun, at Lok Bhavan.

The event was graced by Hon’ble Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd.), Hon’ble MoS (I/C), Ministry of AYUSH, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Hon’ble Minister Shri Subodh Uniyal and Swami Ramdev Ji.

Eminent experts, including Dr. Charles Elder, Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Padma Shri Prof. (Dr.) S.C. Manchanda, Shri Tarun Vijay and Dr. Maneesha Kothekar, participated in the deliberations.

The panel discussion was moderated by Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Duggal, Vice Chancellor, Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University, focusing on strengthening Integrative Medicine through evidence-based research, education and collaboration.

An MoU between HNBUMU, Ministry of AYUSH and ICMR was also signed, marking an important step towards advancing Integrative Medicine.

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Bhanu Duggal, visited SSJ Government Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Almora, to review the Medical College, Nursing College, and hospital services.

During the visit, she reviewed healthcare facilities, academic activities, and institutional infrastructure, and interacted with faculty members, healthcare professionals, and staff.

Prof. Duggal appreciated the state-of-the-art operation theatres and the Zoonoses Program being conducted by the Department of Microbiology. She also commended the Palliative Care Program run by the Department of Anaesthesiology.

She informed faculty members about key decisions taken by the Academic Council to strengthen research and introduce a more comprehensive assessment system in medical education. She encouraged faculty to undertake research projects focused on issues relevant to Uttarakhand and assured them of support for such initiatives.

Released the book “Travel Advisory for Pilgrims” during a seminar organized by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University on medical preparedness and road safety during the Char Dham Yatra. The handbook serves as a practical guide to help pilgrims undertake the journey with greater awareness and safety.

The deliberations, including insights shared by noted cardiologist Padma Shri S. C. Manchanda, highlighted the health challenges associated with high-altitude travel. Issues such as altitude sickness, physical preparedness, and the need for vigilance were discussed in detail, reinforcing the importance of preventive care before undertaking the yatra.

The Char Dham Yatra is a journey of deep faith, but it must also be approached with responsibility. Ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of devotees is a collective priority. Pre-journey health check-ups, especially for senior citizens, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Given the terrain of Uttarakhand, discipline on mountain roads is critical. The concept of the Golden Hour in emergency response can make a decisive difference in saving lives. Awareness, preparedness, and timely action must guide every step of this sacred journey.

आज लोक भवन, देहरादून में माननीय राज्यपाल श्री @LtGenGurmit जी के साथ हेमवती नंदन चिकित्सा शिक्षा विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा आयोजित ‘चार धाम यात्रा के दौरान चिकित्सा समस्याएं और सड़क दुर्घटना सुरक्षा उपाय’ विषयक सेमिनार में सम्मिलित होकर “पिलग्रिमेज एजुकेशन हैंडबुक” का विमोचन किया।
देवभूमि उत्तराखंड भारत का प्रमुख आध्यात्मिक केंद्र है, जहाँ देश के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से करोड़ों की संख्या में श्रद्धालु गहरी आस्था एवं श्रद्धा भाव के साथ दर्शन हेतु पधारते हैं। यह यात्रा राज्य के मूल निवासियों के लिए आर्थिकी का एक महत्वपूर्ण आधार भी है, जिससे स्थानीय लोगों को स्वरोजगार के अवसर प्राप्त होते हैं, जिनमें होमस्टे, स्थानीय उत्पाद एवं सेवाओं के माध्यम से आजीविका को सुदृढ़ किया जा रहा है। श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा, सुरक्षा एवं उत्तम स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं सुनिश्चित करना सरकार की सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता है। इसी क्रम में यात्रा व्यवस्था को सुदृढ़ बनाने हेतु राज्य सरकार द्वारा व्यापक तैयारियां की गई हैं, जिनके अंतर्गत 243 चिकित्सा अधिकारियों की तैनाती की गई है, जिनमें 33 विशेषज्ञ डॉक्टर भी शामिल हैं, ताकि आपातकालीन परिस्थितियों में त्वरित एवं गुणवत्तापूर्ण चिकित्सा सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराई जा सकें।
सभी श्रद्धालुओं से अनुरोध है कि यात्रा से पूर्व स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण अवश्य कराएं, विशेषकर बुजुर्ग चिकित्सकीय परामर्श लेकर ही यात्रा करें। पर्वतीय मार्ग सुंदर होने के साथ संवेदनशील भी हैं, अतः सावधानी और अनुशासन अत्यंत आवश्यक है।
