Run for Fitness, Run for Bhilai: “Bhilai Steel – Half Marathon” was an outstanding success on 08 February 2026 at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Jayanti Stadium, Bhilai. Over 3000 enthusiastic participants competed in the maiden mega event to promote fitness and safety in the Run for pride for SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant.

Visited and reviewed the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Iron & Steel Plant in Bhadravathi, an iconic institution founded through the vision of Rajarshi Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, and operating under @SteelMinIndia.

Chaired a detailed meeting in the presence of senior officials and local representatives to assess the plant’s current situation. MP Shri @BYRBJP avaru, MLAs Shri S.L. Bhojegowda avaru, Smt. Sharada Pooryanayak avaru, labour leader Smt. Sharada Appajigowda avaru, and several other leaders were present.

• Bhilai – Strong production, expansion strategy, role in projects of national importance
• Durgapur – Reviewed modernization & expansion (greenfield & brownfield)
• IISCO – Focus on sustainability, advanced facilities & future growth

Reiterated the importance of efficiency, innovation & sustainability to ensure these iconic plants drive India’s steel capacity & national development in line with Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi avaru’s vision of #AtmanirbharBharat.

Successful launch of #GSLV-F16 carrying the world’s first dual-band radar satellite #NISAR…a game changer in precise management of disasters like cyclones, floods etc. Also, it’s capacity to penetrate through fogs, dense clouds, ice layers etc make it a pathbreaking enabler for aviation and shipping sectors.

The inputs from NISAR will benefit the entire world community…in the true spirit of “ Vishwabandhu”.

.@SAILsteel organised the Defence Customer Conclave 2025 on 4th June at @SAILasp1965 SAIL Alloy Steels Plant, Durgapur, to enhance synergy with Defence PSUs and align with the vision of #AtmanirbharBharat through indigenisation & strategic collaboration.
The event was graced by Director (Commercial), SAIL and Director I/c RSP with additional charge of DSP & ISP. Defence leaders from  various defence PSUS  shared evolving requirements & sought deeper partnership with SAIL.
SAIL reaffirmed its commitment to supporting India’s defence ecosystem by expanding capabilities to meet future needs. Together with Defence PSUs, SAIL is poised to contribute meaningfully to a self-reliant defence future.
