"Panel: The Future of Conferences: In-person, Virtual, or Something Else?" @ACMMobiCom moderated by Suman @sumanbanerjee. I'm really proud of my student, Hana @HBpasandi @VCUENGR@VCU, for reflecting the students' perspectives with the other fantastic four panelists.
I have long witnessed the passion, talent, and dedication of @HBpasandi both in research and in the community.Organizations @ACMMobiCom,@ACMSIGMOBILE & @ACMSIGCOMM should recognize not only faculty members, but also the students. What are your thoughts?

📢 Next week @ACMMobiCom@S3Acm workshop on April 1st, we are hosting two amazing keynotes by prof. @fadeladib & prof. @swarunk. We are also hosting a panel with a great line of speakers on “How to overcome the challenges of conducting research during a #pandemic?”
By the way, you still have time to register for the @S3Acm that I have co-organized together with @HBpasandi and @wang_wireless. The workshop will be online and the registration fee is only 35USD! Make sure to check out our exciting program here: https://t.co/8JgPMZ6oIW
In our recent paper (w\@HBpasandi and @timse7 ), we investigated the impact of adding a new dimension, i.e., upscaling method, to the bitrate ladder optimization. We show that the proposed per-title encoding results in a 24% bitrate and 53% storage reduction.
These are great! I would add: highlight diverse scientists when you open up a new topic: I like to talk about Hedy Lamar when we chat about comms and backscatter, Grace Hopper in compilers (duh), Deb Estrin in mobile health (obvi), and James West for audio sensing.
